We're going in Sept to celebrate my birthday. On our last night we want to go to either Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue or Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Please help me choose!

We've seen both, although the backyard bbq was thanksgiving day which as i understand has a different menu.

We have two young daughters and they did not enjoy the hoop de do. Much of the show was over there head and they left hungry. Seating was crowded. They didn't care for the food. I on the other hand enjoyed the basic meal.

The backyard bbq was much more enjoyable and the kids were full when they left. The meal was on par with hoop de do from my persepctive. The atmosphere was more family driven. The kids were free to get up and roam about and dance, etc.

As opposed to the last review.
I do not think there is any comparison.
The HDDR is a must see, cant miss type of Disney attraction.
The food was good and my 5 and 8 year old could not stop laughing. My 2 year old also enjoed himself.

On the other hand Mickeys BYB too me the food not quite as good and the whole event seemed like a contrived way for Disney to scrape some extra bucks off the guest.

On a scale of 1-10

HDDR - 9
MBBQ - 4

Having tried both--I would recommend the HDDR.

My boys age 4 and 2 at the time--loved it!

The barbecue was okay, but not worth the money to me.

I would take a regular character meal over it--such as Crystal Palace, Chef Mickeys, etc

My only problem with the HDDR is that I felt like the price of alcohol is factored into the adult price, and DH and I are nondrinkers.

The table next to us did seem to get their money's worth!!!:earseek: :drinking1

HTH!

We love love love the HDDR. Plus Sept is mosquito mating season and the BBQ is outside. No contest.

we switched our ps from bbq to hddr based on the lack of air conditioning at the bbq! after a long hot day in the parks, i would rather eat my dinner in comfort!

I booked the HDDR... I wasn't sure about the outdoor thing with the bugs... I appreciate all your opinions!
