Anyone here every went to one of these shows? I have made ADR for the Hoop dee doo and I'm kind of excited but I don't see anyone talking about it.

I saw it for the first time last month and I LOVED it!!! We had the front table in front of the stage and it was a blast! Now that I"ve seen it, I'm going back for sure!!!!

The show is funny and entertaining and the food is great! The ribs...OMG they are so good! I loved the fried chicken and the beans...YUMMY!!!! Overall a great meal and a wonderful time!!!!

Thanks! I don't think we are in the front.. we're seated in cat#2 so hopefully that will ok. These were the best available for our party of 7. Thanks for your help

We were also seated front and center. The show was funny and we enjoyed ourselves. But the food was mediocre. Our chicken was kind of soggy and cold. Didn't really think the strawberry shortcake was that great either.

We had a good time - so we weren't too bothered about it.

We go almost every time we take a trip to WDW, simply because it seems like every time we go, I'm taking someone who hasn't seen it yet !:goodvibes

The food ranges from great to just okay each visit - I really like the chicken and the potatoes, but don't really care for ribs or strawberry shortcake so I can't really comment on those, but the others at my table seem to make them disappear ! Bud Light, wine and sangria is included in the price of admission as well, for those who like to partake ( I do !) :drinking1 . If you have a person in your party with special dietary needs, they can accommodate you if you order ahead - the times when I've had to do this, I made mention of it when I reserved it, then called one week prior to the show, and once again on the morning of the performance, just to make sure. I think they require a minimum of 48 hours notice for special meals. I've never had a bad server in the many times I've been - you have to have a personality to work here !

The show makes up for any shortcomings on the menu. It's farcical down-home country singing, dancing, storytelling, but if you take it for what it's meant to be, it's great ! If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary in your group, be sure to mention it during that part of the show! My husband (who is 6'3" and 240 lbs) has been chosen to be the fairy in the show twice - complete with pink glittery wings !

One hint though - be sure to allow lots of time to get to Fort Wilderness !

Let me know if you need more info -
Have a great time !

We love it! :goodvibes
We also go everytime we visit~ It is so much fun, my son asks to go back all the time as well as my hubby and mom. When they know I am working on our dining plans they alway say "dont forget hoop de doo"

Have Fun :woohoo:

One of my favorites at Disney!!!!

My son has been in the show 3 times!!! The food is decent but the show well makes up for it

hi! we went Wed 1/09, and this was our first visit. we were on the deluxe ddp and had seats upstairs, along the rail. but, they weren't so bad after all and I felt like I could see almost everyone and it was great to people watch from there. My DH is a Bud ( not Bud-light man and so he sticked with iced tea) and I enjoyed the Sangria. We had a great server. She lugged a lot of trays up and down those stairs. She even made a special trip for just chicken legs for my DD. We never ran out of food and we laughed so hard my sides hurt! :lmao:
the entertainment was terrific. the entertainers were very personable. Six Bits spent a couple of minutes visiting with us. I look forward to another visit the next vacation we take to WDW; even though it was 2 dining credits.
for the trip over we took the boat from the magic kingdom. It was a great way to watch the fireworks and we loved it. Coming home was another story. We waited at least 30 minutes for a bus - yuk!

Since you say you saw the fireworks on the boat.....I'm assuming you mean the boat TO the show. I have also read that people have gotten a good look at the fireworks coming FROM the show, but I'm guessing that that is when they go to the 7:15 show.

Just curious.

our seats were Category 3 - the only thing available. We were told by several people that reservations are hard to get and I made the mistake of waiting until two months till our trip.
The only dinner that night was the 7:15 show and Magic Kingdom closed at 7:00 (I guess getting into the slower season). I was able to get some pictures of the fireworks as chugged along looking back toward the park.
The one thing I didn't stress, but other people do mention and needs to be taken very seriously, is either drive yourself over or allow a lot of extra travel time. We thought it would be great to take the boats over and left EPCOT by monorail at 6pm, over to the TTC and then the riverboat to MK and then the ferry boat from the MK to the Hoop De Doo, thinking we hade plenty of time. Luckily, we got there right in time! The ferry boat ride alone takes almost 15 minutes.
