A waitress at Ohana once told us that the leftovers get composted. Who knows if that's really true, but DH & I did get a good laugh out of imagining the massive compost pile of Ohana leftovers.

I don't think you can compost meat though... it leads to bad bacteria.

Totally agree or even donate to a homeless shelter - which I know would violate many many health codes -- which leads to, at least in NYC, quite a few people dumpster diving at the close of business.

We once asked a server at 'Ohana if we could have a to-go container for our bread. It was our one and only loaf we had for the meal. We had only cut a tiny piece off of it. She was reluctant to give it to us but since we weren't asking for any more food and the bread was really the only thing of the meal left on our table she did give us one. The bread was all we took and it did make a delicious breakfast the next morning. But I don't think they would regularly hand out containers.
