Just give them a call and they will get kids food for you . We went last year and I called 24 hours ahead (suggested) for my son (5yo) . No problems --they brought him some Mac 'n chz, chicken nuggets,fries--presumably from next door at the Trails End Buffet. No extra charge--I believe you can request this at any Disney restaurant that does'nt have what your little one likes.

You can tell the server when you sit down that your child would rather have a hot dog or other child meal. We never call ahead. We just ask for something else and have always been happily accomodated.

No need to call ahead. We've gotten dd a hot dog or chicken with french fries. Both times we've gone, our waiter asked if she wanted something else and gave us options (Basically what kid food they at the buffet next door (the name is escaping me).
