I need some help with a Hoop Dee Doo reservation.

Sorry, it sounded short in my head, but whey I typed it out, it was longer.

I am a Disney Dining member and I need a reservation for 7 plus an infant. The infant won't be eating HDD food. Disney Dining only gives discounts up to six people.

When I tried making the reservation, the CM wouldn't allow me to make a reservation for more then six people if I wanted the discount for the six. I couldn't pay full price for the seventh person on the same PS. The infant isn't a charge, but counts against the six.

Does this sound silly or what? It gets even sillier. She went on to say that the second reservation had to be in another persons name and a second address. Has anyone heard of this policy?

So I made a PS for six under my name and a PS for two under my wifes name and our Florida address.

This is more hassel the it's worth. Besides the CM having an attitude. She also mentioned that our party will be split.

I am thinking of cancelling and making two reservations of four.

Anyone have any advice on my strange situation?

Thank you very much.

Joe

I think they do they same with CRT. If there are duplicate
ressies in the system one is deleted if I understand that correctly
(in order to give others a fair shot). By making two ressies in the
same name with the same address I think the system might assume it was a duplicate ressie and delete one. Personally,
I'd make one ressie for 6 (depending on the age of the infant, I can't see them turning you away). It might just depend on the CM you got that day too-some are more helpful than others.

I would cancel and book with another CM who knows what they're doing.

Or as Mom_rules suggested, drop the second ressie and just show up with the baby. I'd personally be more at ease re-booking.

I would most certainly cancel your existing reservations and re-book as a party of six.

I made a PS for the ice cream social for May and told the woman that we'd be a party of 6 (one being an infant). She told me I should book as a party of 5 so that my group wouldn't be split. Her words were, "they won't turn you away with an infant in tow and they don't take up any extra room really."

Soooo...if you rebook hopefully you'll get an agent who knows what they are doing!
