My BF and I want to do the Hoop Dee Doo Review. I've been to WDW before and have never done it, and this is BF's 1st trip. When I described the show to him, he said "let's do it!".

Is this show more for the kids, or can two adults with no children still have a lot of fun?

We went to the Hoop De Doo on our honeymoon. We had a great time! I highly recommend it.princess:

We do HDDR every trip we love it. I'm sure you will have a great time at the show. It is definitely appropriate for two adults. The humor can be a little corny but it is all good fun. The strawberry shortcake is to die for. Enjoy some for me!

We also did HDD on our honeymoon. We had the table front and center to the stage. Great seat. They did some great interaction with my DH. :)

We are probably in the minority, BUT maybe cause we aren't into country music, or "down home humor" we didn't get that impressed with it. Sorry. It took planning & time to get there, get your tickets ahead of time, and we were very excited. We had good seats, but the food was so-so, and we weren't impressed with the entertainment. Now we went a few years ago and maybe it is better now? But I won't be going back.

DH and I went in January. We really enjoyed it. We thought the food was good, DH thought it was some of the best fried chicken he's had. The show is corny but we still thought it was pretty funny (especially after all the unlimited beer and sangria :D )

I went to the Hoop Dee Doo with 3 other adults back in September, and I must admit we were disappointed. I think the problem was that we were up in the balcony. The performers played to the main floor, and the sound system didn't seem to be focused on the balcony, either, so we had trouble hearing the show.

That said, lots of folks love it, so if you do go, SHOW UP EARLY. Check in is a 2 step process: you have to get your tickets, but you also have to check in near the entrance of Pioneer Hall. We got our tickets plenty early, but weren't told we had to check in by the entrance, which is why we got bad seats, I think...

I'd love to try the show again, 'cause corny jokes are a good thing, but it's not worth the money for me to see if the second time's the charm.

I was under the impression that you could get your tickets ahead of time - from your resort? We have had PS for HDDR for several months now - and I thought I read on another post - that you can receive your tickets at your resort like 2-3 days ahead of time? Just give them your confirmation # and they print off your tix.

I also read that your seats are sorta "assigned" at the time you make your PS - i.e. the sooner you make the PS - the better your seats?

I ment making the ressie's way ahead of time, planning the whole thing.... Yes we picked up our actual tix at the poly upon check in too.

My family loves it. It does have a certain kind of corny humor for sure, but that is intended. I can see how some may not find it funny. You'll never know though unless you try it. If you like ribs, chicken, corn, strawberry short-cake and corny theatre, this is for you!

We went on a family (the whole family) trip last year. We've been to hoop dee doo probably a dozen times. But last year, my father was chosen out of the audience.
I don't want to give the show away, but he was the last character to come out (for those that have been, you know which audience character that is). We recorded the whole thing on video and is a priceless memory.

I recommend it.

Grammagail, yes, you get your tickets ahead of time at your resort. Then, with tickets in hand (don't forget them if you are coming from a park that day!), you go to Pioneer Hall and check in. Your seats are assigned long before that. They are assigned in the order they are booked. The earlier, the better. We have always been the table in front of the stage. The "blonde" in the show had great fun flirting with my DS15 this past January. Had the crowd in hysterics lifting her leg in front of him. We were all howling. Great fun! You'll love it. Oh, one last thing. Just like checking into Chef Mickey's, they will guide you over to have your family picture taken after you check in. If you don't want to do that (which after the second and third time seeing the show, we didn't), then politely say you don't want to have it done. If you do want it done, about an hour or so into the show, they will come around to the tables with the pictures for you to buy. Have fun!!!!!

we went once as adults only but I think once is enough; unless, you are involved with taking someone else like parents or grandchildren, etc. for another time then that's all I need.

It's among the top show/meal combinations around at Disney. Supposedly, it ranks with a meal at the Royal Table or the luau at the Polynesian.

I think if you like country and Disney characters then you'll like it. If you are bored because you've seen everything else that's Disney then I would go for it. On the other hand, if you haven't seen everything then you might want to give other choices some thought like the afternoon tea party at Grand Floridian or going to Victoria and Albert's for a meal. The list goes on and on.

We go every trip - it's our first night dinner. The show is kinda corny/hokey but it's great anyway. In Aug my bf and I had the table front and center and Claire had a great time flirting with bf. Also if you don't care for the food you can always ask for something from trails end buffeteria - we got fries and mac & cheese since we didn't like the beans or corn.

Hi

Just got back from our trip and we did the Doo for the first time....we are a 20 and 30 sonething couple no kids and very silly heres the deal

Its SILLY, CORNY, FUN and the Food is actually good. LOVED the Ribs. So dont go expecting broadway, go expecting Dolly Parton on Nitrus. While we did enjoy it, dont think well do it again....we prefer Jikos or Bomas and LOVE The restaraunts in Epcot. But you should definetely check it out!

If you can afford the money for it go for it. You will enjoy it. Two adults will love this show. But again if you can afford it. If so then its a big yes

I love the HoopDeeDoo..MY roommate and I used to go when I lived in orlando and worked at WDW...maybe once every other month...yes, I know, pathetic :p

I cant wait until July, taking my little cousins to see it for the first time!

We did this in Jan '03 and really enjoyed it. As the other posters have said, it is very Corney. If you are looking for a sophistocated evening for adults - this is not the thing to do. But if you are willing to just be silly and laugh at the silliness of others you will have a great time.

Aynt79, I agree - the chicken is some of the best I have ever had.
