Hoop Dee Doo Category 1 Seating on DDxDP (Last seating/8:30pm)?

On our last 2 trips ('11 & '15, so its been a while), we were able to use our dining plan credits (2 pp) to get Category 1 Seating for the last/8:30pm show at Hoop Dee Doo (I know we couldn't get cat 1 for the other 2 showings w/ credits).

I am seeing conflicting information online. Is this still possible?

(And yes, I know, not best use of credits but we do so much character dining that deluxe still seems to work out, even using them this way)

yes you can use TS credits to get Cat 1 seating for the 8:30 shows. I just reserved it for our August trip - what info were you seeing that suggested it couldn't be done?

Right now on the Disney site page for Hoop Dee Doo it just says "Category 1 - Not eligible for use with Disney Dining Plan" under the seating chart and I can't find something in writing the explicitly says you CAN use points for category 1 (although maybe my search skills are just poor today).

Gotcha - I do see that but I just tried making a mock reservation for the week we are there on the dining plan (in August) and when I got to the payment page, an 8:30 reservation gave me the option to use my dining plan credits for Category 1 seats. They may have just simplified the language on the cover page of the restaurant.
