We're paying OOP, so the dining plan restrictions don't matter.

Is it worth the extra money to sit in Category 1?

(As I see it, there's no advantage to Category 2; you're way in the back and at floor level; I can't imagine you get a good view. But I'm open to persuasion.)

We were on the dining plan and had category 2 but when we checked in, I changed it to category 3 in the balcony :woohoo: We were down near the front overlooking the stage and we thought it was a great location :yay: We even had some of the cast come up and spend some time at our table :dance3:

I have sat in both Cat 1 and 2 and I think you will enjoy the show from any location. The cast is very good about being very inclusive with the entire audience no matter what you seating location. Actually, I think they are better than the SOA dinner but the HDDR program is probably more conducive to that.

We sat Cat 3 on our last trip and will do the same on our upcoming trip in May. The view in my opinion "seemed" like it was better there as oppposed to Cat 1 or 2. And the cast made sure that we were included in the show. We felt like we had front row seats. It was AWESOME!!

We had Cat1 at the beginning of January. We were seated right on the spot in the middle of the dining room where they sing and such. I think it was amazing, and well worth going to the late show to get Cat1 (we were on the dining plan)

HOOP-DEE-DO-REVIEW CAT-3 SEATING:

1) Cat-3 isn't bad, if
. . . you don't mind turning around - one half of seats face away from stage
. . . you might have a pillar in your way - five posts per side
. . . your kids are tall enough - short kids might have railing in the way
. . . you don't mind climbing stairs to your seat - not handicapped accessible
2) Some people don't mind Cat-3.
. . . entertainers still visit the upstairs
. . . the food is not cold
. . . they like viewing down on the stage

Let's face it, whether HDDR, Broadway, or your local live theater, the expensive
seats (eg. Cat-1 at HDDR) are ALWAYS the best. Sure, some like the balcony
at HDDR, but Cat-1 is still the best.

And all have been Cat 1, will take nothing else...when I book any such type venue, I'm not going to do the cheapest catagory and be out in left field...I paid decent money to get in, might just as well spend alittle more and have the best...we like being down front, right in the action....center of attraction and not glancing from behind a post, or turning around in our chairs to see....others will disagree, but for the little more money, cat. 1 is the best....

We did Cat. 2 on the Balcony we had a great view great seat and we would do the same Cat. 2 again did want 3 but didn't want to pay more for cat.1 we felt it wasn't any need we had fun and enjoyed the whole show:hug:

Category 1 or 2 if you like to be in the center of the entertainment & would not care (or any one in your party) if you got picked on by one of the performers.

Category 3 if you are content to just watch & would be totally embarrassed to be picked on by the performers. They do come upstairs a few times during the show so that still might happen, but not as much as downstairs. We went this past Dec & I choose Cat. 3 because I like to look down on the performance & not worry about people in front of me. My DD7 also likes to sit upstairs so that worked for us.
