Hoop dee doo and using credits

Okay so people always say don't use you dining credits from the DDP for the Hoop dee doo. Can anyone explain the thinking behind that? Does it make sense to use the 2 credits for the HDD and lets say pay for breakfast at Ohana one day instead?

I plan on using our credits for Hoop Dee Doo. We're signed up for Deluxe DDP, so we should have plenty of credits to use towards it. I'm not sure what the thinking is behind it, either.

Great question my DW and I just went over this before making ADR's last week and we want to go to the HHDR, haven't been there for a few years.
And we decided to go for the Hoop OOP and get catigory 1 seating, take the 2 credits and go to Capt'n Jacks and last day Crystal Palace for breakfast. But either way can't tell you which is better just got a few extra meals this way.
If we had the deluxe DDP we would have worked it like KigerKat.
This is how we worked it

9/21 San Angle
9/22 Coral Reef
9/23 Spoodles(new for us)
9/24 Chefs De France
9/25 Hoop De Doo (OOP)
9/26 Capt. Jacks
9/27 Le Cellier
9/28 Crystal Palace for breakfast (new for us)

If you are using 2 TS credits for tier 2 seating at HDDR, can you then pay the difference OOP for tier 1 seating?

If you go to the 9:30 p.m. show, you can get Tier 1 for 2 TS credits - plus the show is much more fun and livelier!

I never thought of just paying for Hoop Dee Doo
and saving the credits for two other meals....
I don't think they let you upgrade to tier one and pay the difference.

I'll have to do the math....

Other's have said, though, that where ever you sit, it's a great show.
We have little one's so we have to go to the early show...

You can only get Tier 1 for the 9:30 show with the DP. They changed the rules last year & created tier pricing and seating. Also can not pay the difference for Tier 1. We always use the credits for HDD. It's $55 and includes the tip. So you would only need to spend under $20 for 2 CS and 2snacks to break even.

You know......We paid OOP for Tier 1, we booked 180 days out so we got the front row, center table. They fill the tables based on the time you booked.

I simply can't imagine that those sitting in Tier 2 or Tier 3 could possibly enjoy the show as much as we did.

They do try their best to work the room, but when your sitting right up front and the performers are making eye contact with your little ones, you can't beat that.

Having said that - the only way we'd go back to HDDR is to pay OOP. But I guess its like everything else....you get spoiled.

My family went to Hoop last year with DS who was 6. We had dead center seats, but way in the back on the main level. There is a fair amount of the vaudeville actors moving about & I did not feel that we had lesser seats whatsoever. DS was enchanted as he pigged out! Freedom from the kid dining selections! Another value point, beer is included and strawberry shortcake is one of my personal favorite desserts bc I can tell myself it's healthy - it's fruit!

Yep can you imagine paying OOP for the Hoop then using the saved credits 2TS each and doing say Le Cellier and Coral Reef and also getting Catigory 1 seating at HDDR? Can't wait till Sept.
