I have a question on paying for the Hoop Dee Doo Review. When I made the reservations for our trip I made ressies for HDDR, the CM took my credit card number and said thase would be charged to my credit card. I have read that when you pick up your tickets when you check in they will deduct them from your card as with a regular TS meal. How does this work since they are already paid for by credit card :confused3 I dont want them taken off my meal plan I would rather have had them charged to my credit card.
Can someone clear this up for me???

I just made reservations for the hoop de doo. They also asked for my CC number. Its just in case you dont show... then they charge your CC. Its a deposit of sorts. Did they ask if you where on the DDP?

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TOLD, AS WELL. IF YOU ARE A NO SHOW AND HAVEN'T CANCELLED AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE, YOU'LL GET CHARGED THEN. :thumbsup2

I just make my reservations for Hoop Dee Doo as well, as it was make clear that the credit card was in case I didn't show.

But I have another question regarding the DDP and the Hoop Dee Doo. Do you think its better to use 2 DDP credits for this, or just pay out of pocket? I am also going to the Cinderella Breakfast, and that requires 2 DDP credits as well. I'll have to pay for something.

Thanks!

:confused3
Good question.... I too plan on paying by credit card rather than using the DDP to go there...
Anyone?

I haven't fully dcided yet. We are going to HDDR on our last night, so if wee use all of our TS credits by then, we will pay out of pocket. If not...then with the DP.

I don't think you can decide at the last minute. When I made my ressie I mentioned that, and she said I have to pre-pay within 48 hours of the show :confused3

I made my Hoop reservations before I knew if I was getting the dining plan. I paid 100% on my credit card immediately upon making the reservation. I asked what I should do if I decided to go ahead with the dining plan and wanted to use credits. They said to let them know when I pick up the tickets if I would like to change it. I have decided not to change it and just pay OOP. We have our ADR's set for the rest of the trip and are using all of our TS credits so I am just planning on keeping it on the credit card. It is my understanding that that is not a problem to leave it as is and just pick up tickets.

So the CM at the resort won't automatically deduct these from the DDP when you pick them up?

We ate at the Hoop Dee Doo Review last week and we had a blast!!! They had charged our credit card at the time of our reservation. We were on the Dining Plan, but we decided to pay out of pocket for this meal. We simply left it on the credit card. No one ever tried to deduct Dining Plan credits for this meal. We ate at several Signature Restaurants, and we decided that from a cost perspective it made the most sense to pay OOP here, rather than at - Jiko's- for example.
I was told that if we decided to use our Dining Credits, just inform them of this and they would issue a credit to our credit card and deduct the credits from the Dining Plan at that time.
We had a great time.
Go and Enjoy!

If you don't want to use you meal vouchers for HDDR then just pick up your tickets and say nothing. If you want to use vouchers, it will be 2 table service meals per person, and then, yes they will credit your card back. Hope this helps.

How much does the HDDR cost for children and adults?
I looked on the web site, and it says $30-50. Its a one-price
buffet, right?

Thanks!

When you pick up the tickets at he concierge/front desk, they will either charge your credit card or deduct TS credits.
It is @25.00 per child and @50.00 for an adult. It includes tax and gratuities.
It is a family style dinner. They have a little 'intro show' and then bring out salad to each table. You eat for @ 10-15 minutes and then the show starts again. Then they bring out the main meal of fried chicken, ribs, corn, baked beans, etc.....
It is a lot of fun! We are seeing it again in September- can't wait!

When I booked HDDR and the Luau I told the CM I had the free dining plan, but wanted to pay for the dinner shows OOP. He said no problem and my credit card has already been billed for both.

I booked the HDDR yesterday and the CM said the ssame thing as everyone already mentioned. They took the credit card in case of a no-show. It's only to hold the ressie, if your on the DDP. There are 3 adults and 1 Junior in our party and it would of been close to $200 for the meal so we are using the DDP for it.. Well worth it.

We've always wanted to do HDDR but couldn't justify the extra expense for 3 adults and 1 child. Thanks to Disney's Free Dining we are finally able to enjoy HDDR :woohoo:

When you book the reservation, you also select Category 1, 2, 3 for the show. If you are paying with Dining Plan Credits, will they respect your category? Or do all DDP participants end up moving to Category 3 if using credits? It's important for me to be in category 1. Thanks for any info!

DDP guests pick their category just like anyone paying OOP - Cat 2 or 3 at the earlier 2 shows or Cat 1, 2, or 3 for the 8:30 show. Using your DDP credits does not automatically move your ADR to Cat 3. We have used DDP twice for HDDR and selected Cat 2. We had great table - in fact the same table both times - on the lower floor around mid room. If you absolutely must have Cat 1 using the DDP, then you will need to attend the late show.
** This thread originated over 10 years ago. If you have additional questions about HDDR or the DDP I would suggest asking them in a new thread on the Restaurants/Dining Plan forum.
