I know that my niece and nephew, twins who will be almost 8 by the time of our almost planned trip this summer, would really enjoy the HDD. My questions: Is the 9:30pm show too late for them, Do you get seated at 9:30pm, How soon are you served dinner after you get seated, Is the late show different from the earlier shows? My problem: I can get the 20% DDE discount only at the late show and with 3 adults (sister, bil, myself) and 2 kids, the savings would be about $40, either the tip or another day of meals at WDW. I also believe that I could probably get us a better table at the late show. And these kids do not have a problem staying up late. I still have to get this by my sister. Does anybody have experience with taking younger kids to the 9:30pm show? Thanks in advance for any input.

Unless they are going to be willing to take naps in the afternoon, I think that 9:30 would be too late. I know that my 10 DD wouldn't make it through the meal and show.

we went to the late seating with my 8 yr old nephew and 10 yr old niece and they were fine (but they are prone to staying up late) If I remember correctly we were seated promptly and dinner was served right away.

they absolutely loved it and my nephew said - thanks for bringing us here we should do this all the time! we all laughed and laughed throughout the show and my dad was even part of it

toot-toot!

It depends on how late your child is used to staying up. My DD did fine when she was eight but she's always a night owl and we let her sleep late that morning (even at 8 she'd sleep half the day if you let her and stay up most of the night). We were just there this November. You are seated promptly. The salad is already on the table when you sit down. Your server will take drink orders and then the food pretty much comes right out. The show is great. And the tip is included in the price. Although, I've never seen anything that said you can't tip and we have left one if a server provided us really outstanding service.

Salad and bread are served right away after you are seated. The tip is included in the price. IMO it is worth the extra $40 to go to a show during normal dinner hours...unless you are used to eating at 9:30pm. It is really an enjoyable show but I could never imagine trying to go to the 9:30 show, especially w/ kids. Whatever you decide...have fun!! :D

That is why we have PS for this for the 5pm show. 9:30 is too late for my two kids.

I've taken my 4 & 2 year old to the 9:30 show and they did great. The show is the same, the crowds are less. Of course we are on Pacific time so it's not really that late, but they have had a full day in the park too.

Another thing to consider is where are you staying? If you are staying at WL or CR and you don't spend that whole day in the park then I think they will be fine just plan on a later lunch. But if you staying anywhere else I would go to an earlier show. Taking the boat from HDD is alot quicker.

Thanks for all the replies! The kids really don't have a problem going to sleep late and then sleeping late the next am. My main concern was about them eating so late. We will be staying at SSR (1st trip as DVC).

If they are used to staying up late or can stay up late then the late show should be fine for you all. The food comes out very quickly but I find that I'm enjoying the show so much that it takes my mind off of being hungry :smooth:
