It truly saddens me to write this because I had such high expectations. My parents will never go back due to the employees at Hoop Dee Do Review. Not our server, he was great, even with my father who refused to eat the first 15 minutes because of the mess we were in and a seriously bad attitude. The server rolled with it was polite and got us everything we needed. It was the host/hostess and management.
We arrived outside in the rain (it was also around 50 degrees out as well so already an environment that makes hungry people hangry). We all stood at the entrance on the covered porch. There were about 30-40 other people with us and it was 550. An employee was actually out on the porch talking to someone who was trying to do a walk in without ressie and helping him out. Never once did she mention they were not planning on opening those doors.
We waited. 615 rolled by. We waited. The doors never opened. It got to be about 625 and people started to panic. Finally, we all figured out they had only opened one small door to let people in and none of the staff (who knew at least 30 people were on the porch came out to say anything. When we finally got in i asked the host. "Oh we don't like to open that door when it rains because no one wants to use it." WHAT!!!??? That makes no sense. There were tons of pissed off people. We sat down, front row and the show started 5 minutes later.
It just set an awful tone for the meal. I was attempting to calm my father down. I will write disney but it was just utter chaos with all of those upset confused people. Hopefully at some point in the future they will figure out that when a good portion of your dining room is empty (10 mins prior to showtime) you might want to check the other door.
