Is Hoop Dee Do really worth 2 table service credits? We will have 6 adults and 4 children ages 14, 11, 8 & 6. Thanks!:goodvibes

We love the hoop de doo!! We are doing it for the 3rd time next saturday..... I think it is worth the 2 TS. The food is really good but the show is great! We are also a party of 10 6 adults and 4 kids (12,9,8,5) My two children are 12 and 8 and they love this show as well. The last time we did it they were 10 and 6 (2 yrs ago)! Everyone is different but if you think it sounds like something you would enjoy...Go for it!! Like I tell everyone...if you don't like it~ Chalk it up to an experience and do something else next time! Good luck deciding and have a great vaca!! :thumbsup2

We loved it....We don't do the dining plan and paid OOP for it this year. My husband just told me yesterday that he wants to do it again in May! :thumbsup2

Your children are the perfect age for it. My then 14 and 9 yo thought it was hysterical. We paid OOP for it instead of using our TS credits partially because I wanted to be closer to the stage and still thought it was worth it.

We also love it and would recommend it to anyone! My family has been to HDDR 4 times in the last 5 trips; we regret not going the 1 time we skipped it, and can't wait to hoop-dee-doo it again! We used the DDP one time for it and were less than thrilled with our seats on the back of the floor (Cat 2, I believe). From now on, when on the DDP, we will pay OOP for Cat 1, and use our extra TS credit for a nice TS lunch or signature dining experience. This makes sense to us, since using DDP for HDDR leaves us 1 TS meal "short" for our # of nights, and we'd end up paying OOP for something else somewhere anyway.

That said, the less-than-perfect seats were still "worth it" to us, and we would do it that way again if we needed to find a more budget-friendly solution. (I think the balcony seats are better than the back of the floor, but I'm not sure if they seat big parties up there. If you do use your credits, I recommend requesting a table on the balcony level.)

Have fun!

When on the regular DDP, HDDR is the ONLY meal where I can justify using 2 TS credits. I wouldn't use 2 TS credits on any signatures because we would still order appitizers and either wine or cocktails and to use those credits and still have to pay OOP for half the meal just bothers me.

I like to break down the dinner shows into 1 TS credit being used for food and the other being used for the show itself. If you think about it this way, SoA isn't worth it to us. The food is what it is and would be worth the credit, but the show is just awful IMO. HDDR, however, the show is fun (and the more you drink the more fun it is) and the food is pretty good.

And don't let the seating Cats. worry you. My girlfriend and I actually like sitting upstairs in the balcony. The cast still comes up there to interact and you don't have to worry about someone sitting in front of you or your kids.

Thank you for all the imput! You have convinced me it is worth it. :goodvibes

We did Cat 2 - Can we request the balcony ahead of time or when we arrive?

We did Cat 1 seating last time with DDP as we don't mind the late show (older DD and allows us to maximise park time that day)

Planning on doing again next summer as it will be three years (by then) since we saw it. Don't know if I would go there every year though

If you book the last Hoop Dee Doo show of the night, you can be seated in Category 1. I didn't know this until I read it on the Dis. It was a very late dinner for us but it was worth it being 1 table back from the stage.

You've already decided, but just want to contribute my resounding praise for HDDR -- we did this for the first time last September and LOVED it! The food was really good, the entertainment was charming and funny...everybody loved it -- my parents, DH, and our two DDs (5yo and 16mo at the time) didn't really get the jokes but laughed and clapped and sang right along.

Love it! We are stingy with our TS credits and this was well worth 2!

Enjoy!

For sure worth it. We've seen it like 3-4 times (can't remember) and love it each and every time.

Went for the first time last month ... Had to wait outside in the rain until they were ready to seat us. When the show was over, they had to clean and then rush everyone in. I like the unlimitted beer or wine. Food came kinda quick and it wasn't hot. Bus transportation from the show was great and well organized.

If I was to do the show again, I would get the first seating

We love the HDDR and it's a must do for us on every trip. The food is pretty good for ribs and chicken and the show is hilarious. DD loves it too. We usually plan this on our down day. We do a late breakfast at CM then pool and relax in the afternoon then head over to Fort Wilderness for dinner. It makes a nice relaxing day.
