We thoroughly enjoyed the Hoop Dee Do 12 years ago when we were at WDW for our honeymoon. We were thinking of going back but wonder if our kids ages 7 and 9 will enjoy it as much as we did? Especially considering the cost for all of us to go, including my mother, do you think it's worth it? I seem to remember lots of fun but also some mild adult humor that would go over my kids heads. Maybe our money would be better spent at Chef Mickey's or Whispering Canyon??? I know its not a "character experience", I just wonder if kids that age actually enjoy the singing and dancing. Any thoughts??

My 9 year old loved it. He got called up on stage at the end to be the Sherriff. My 4 year old even had a lot of fun.

My 10 and 7 year olds had a great time. I don't think I have seen the 10 year old laugh that hard in a long time! It is very expensive, and the food is really only fair. We did it on the dining plan (2 credits) and had a great time. We hadn't done it before because I was just too cheap to pay for it :rotfl: Good luck with your decision!

When we, me and DS10, went to WDW is 2000 it was his first WDW trip and my sister went, too, and we did the Luau at the Poly, which was nice. When we went back in 2004 we did the Luau again and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue and DS was 14 so I thought he would think that the HDDR was too corny, but he really liked it and the only one he requested for this trip and he is now 16!

My niece, 6 at the time, daughter 9, both loved it. They didn't get the mild adult stuff (kinda like some of the things in the Pixar movies) but loved the show and the things they did get.

My son first went when he was 7 and has been back twice. When I told him were weren't going to the HDD this year, he got pretty upset. I had to convince him that this will be a trip of all new restaurants, since we won't be doing Cindy's either. He's finally ok with it.

So yes, kids that age will absolutely enjoy it.

My DD's were 7 and 9 when we went to the HDDR on our last night last April and they both loved the show. They were laughing hysterically through most of it and enjoyed all the audience participation. They didn't seem to notice any of the mildly adult comments in it. They weren't that excited about the food but I think it was because they were so into the show.

My 2 DS loved it. It was my oldest sons actual birthday and they made a big stink about it. He was called up on stage to play the sheriff. The 4 year old also had a great time. We are going again this October.

The first time we took the kids they were 2 & 4, when we went back again they were 4 & 6. They LOVED it both times. They are now 7 1/2 & 10 and want to know when we are going go again!!! I think they will love it!! Go for it!!:thumbsup2

My boys were 8 & 10 when we went in 2004... they had a blast. We had a table right in front on the floor, they've already requested that when we go back to do this again!

On my first trip to Disney at age 8, we went to the Hoop De Doo Revue, and my sister (aged 6) and I loved it...we got to be pulled up into the show, and it was something the two of us still enjoy remembering, 12 year later. Definitely go to it with your kids--they'll love it. On top of that, the food is relatively simple, and even picky eaters should be able to find something. :)

Thanks everyone for all of your comments. It sounds like a resounding YES, so I will take my kids, seems like they will enjoy it.

Now I just have to try and get ressies.........
