Is Hoop de doo only on certain nights? How is the food. I am not one for elaborate foods, I love BBQ!! :wave2: :wave2:

Check out this link..

I am not sure if there are any dark nights, but the link indicates it shows nightly 3 times. If you don't like elaborate foods, this would be for you. You will get buckets of fried Chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, bread and green salad. I like the fried Chicken and DH really likes the ribs, but the rest is nothing to write home about, but will hit the spot. It is all you can eat, so you just have to ask if you need more.

Everyone seems to rave about the dessert (strawberry shortcake), I am not a fan of it.

We loved the show and the food! It was a highlight of our trip. We're from Texas and really enjoyed the BBQ. Everyone in our party loved the strawberry shortcake and would have slowed down on the BBQ if we'd have known it was coming.

I love HDDR! We go to the show every time we are at WDW! Enjoy! :)

We were there last Sunday for the first time. The show is so much fun. But don't go for the food. It was good, but nothing outstanding. It is all you can eat, but we didn't eat enough to get seconds on anything. The chicken is just chicken...nothing spectacular. I didn't like the ribs too much...they weren't nasty, just okay. I didn't try the beans. The salad was good (lol), and the bread was okay. The strawberry shortcake was really good. We're not big eaters, this trip was just me and my 2 youngest children. The show was the highlight, not the food. I'll probably go again another time, that's how much fun it is!

Me and my husband loved Hoop De Doo! It was more my DH that wanted to go and I wanted to try something he wanted to do so we booked it. The show was very cute and the food was excellent. Nothing fancy at all, just BBQ. The only thing I didn't like was the corn. It had peppers and onions (i think) in it. It made the corn taste like peppers. But the ribs and chicken were excellent and our waitress was great about bringing out tons of food :goodvibes

For those of you with sparkly names - How you do that???

We went to the Hoop de doo 2 weeks ago. We made reservations 6 months in advance, so got front row seats (they seat you based on when you make reservations).

My 3 year old had a good time and the show was very good. The BBQ ribs and fried chicken were fair, but I guess you are paying for the show and not the food.

In perspective, we spent less to go to Mickey's VMCP and had a much better time. I don't think we'll be going again. Not that the Hoop-de-doo is bad, but there are more fun things to to at WDW for our money.

What is Mickeys VMCP?

The food is good, but not fancy. The show is what you're paying for. Some in our family thought it was side-splitting hilarious, others thought it was funny/cute, no one disliked it. It was worth the money to go once, but probably not again for our family. If it was half the price, then it would be worth another trip for us.

We went last Friday night to the 9:30pm show due to DDE discount. Thank goodness for the discount. Show was fun food was fair. Chicken was good, ribs terrible, corn was good too. If you love fried chicken and corn then this would be a great meal. I feel the show is quite pricey for what is offered. I had taken my 17 year old and 9 year old daughters as well as my parents (late 60's) they all felt the show was "ok".

We just booked this for Dec 2006... I am hoping that we will be in the front row since we booked it a year in advance. I am excited to try it and I am hoping that the show will be entertaining enough for my 2 1/2 year old DD to stay still.

Based on your info, hopefully we get front row seats because we made our reservations 8 months out!!

Hoop Dee Doo adicts here. we all love it. the BBQ is fair to good, the show is very corny, but much like the jungle cruise, we love it. know all the lines by heart, but still pay for it every trip. DS and DH have both been picked to be onstage. Good times!

not some folks cup of tea, but it is for us. pretty expensive, but we see it as paying for the entertainment.

"call be butter, 'cause i'm on a roll" - six bits slocum, Hoop Dee Doo.

here is a pic of katie digging into her strawberry shortcake.
