How important is it to arrive 'a half hour' early to the show in January?

I have tickets for a 7:15 PM show, but will only be able to leave from pop century (we will have a car) at 6:45.

How long is the drive? And then how long can I expect to have to wait for a bus in fort wilderness... and how long will it take to bring us to the theatre?

Thanks so much. I'm starting to stress out, thinking I should perhaps try to get tickets to a different day.

Why will you only be leaving @ 6:45? I would allow at least 15 minute drive time to Ft.Wilderness and then the internal bus to Pioneer Hall will probably take another 10-15 minutes. If you arrive too late, you may lose your table. They like everyone to check-in before time so they can see how many empty tables they will have for a show. That way any walk-ups can be given those tables. If you can leave Pop earlier, I would do that.

If your not leaving Pop until 6:45 pm, then you will be pushing it to get to Pioneer Hall in time. It will probably take at about 10-15 minutes to drive to FW. Then, it could take a bit to get through the gate to the parking lot if there is a long line. Then parking and the bus ride to Pioneer Hall can take 15-20 minutes, sometimes more depending on when you get to the bus stop and which bus you get on.

I've stayed in cabins at FW and drove golf carts to the Pioneer Hall area and at busier times it can take 10-15 minutes to get there due to traffic/speeds from loops near the FW entrance.

We are travelling to HHDMR from OKW. i realise we will have to go to DTD or a park and get the FW bus from there... but will the FW bus take me to pioneer hall, or will i have to get off at FW stop and get another bus (internal) to get there.

I would suggest going to MK and then taking the boat to FW. That will drop you off at the marina side right near Pioneer Hall were Hoop is. If you come from any of the other parks, DTD, or park in the FW parking lot, then you will have to take an internal from the FW entrance to Pioneer Hall.

thanks for that. do you know how long the boat takes? and does it run every 20mins or so like the buses.

If you don't leave til 6:45 you won't make it.

The boats should run at least every 20 minutes, but it usually only takes about 15 minutes to get from MK to FW by boat. There are usually 2-3 boats running.

We've often had a pretty long wait for the boats. I always leave an hour or more to get to FW from our resort. You also need to be sure you get your resort concierge to print out your tickets for you because that saves time to check in at HDDR too. Arriving early really is important though because the rest rooms are outside Pioneer Hall so you want to be sure to take care of that before the show too.

i'll bear that in mind. we are planning to arrive early anyway, as it would be nice to have a look around the resort.

I wouldn't have been able to leave until 6:45 because we are Sabbath Observers and Sabbath only ends at 6:40PM Saturday night.

But thanks for all your feedback, I decided to change our reservations to a Tuesday night, so I don't have to worry about the time crunch!:thumbsup2
