Tell me about Hoop-De-Doo. is it worth the money? I would really like to do it, but it is pretty costly. If I do this I won't b eating at T-Rex, so would it be worth it.

For my family it isn't even close. Hoop-dee all the way. Best fried chicken on the eastern seaboard. Darn good ribs and cornbread. And the strawberry shortcake....oh how I miss the strawberry shortcake. The show is a bit hokey, but it's supposed to be. It always entertains and we never miss it.

I will try to put some up.
HDDR was a good time and good food and we got to see the light show on the lake on the way back to MK.
TRex was loud and crowded. Glad we went but won't go again.
DH votes for Hoop Dee Doo (HDDR)
DS12 votes for HDDR
DS10 votes for HDDR he said depending on how old your kids are. TRex he says he would not recommend for anyone 6 and under.
They both say it was too loud and they only liked to make the stuffed dinos.

PS if you are on the dining plan with table service you can use 2 credits for HDDR

We loved the Hoop! This was our second time seeing it. We had Cat 1 seating that we paid for out of pocket. You can get Cat 2 or Cat 3 seating using 2 table service credits.

How about some FOOD pictures? Sorry I don't mean to keep asking, but I just want to make up my mind.

We LOVED the Hoop-Dee Doo.....oh the sangria!!!

Ok, I've gone to both and I would definitely pick Hoop De Doo over T-Rex!!!! The food is awesome and the show is really fun!

Sorry no pics. I can say that it was the one meal that kept my kids (7 year olds) completely occupied. I agree with the PP. The fried chicken was excellent! I could not stop eating it and fried chicken is normally not my favorite. If you are on the dining plan, I would definitely go for it.

It's really good.

I plan on going back this year. Hopefully, I remember the camera!

Spent the day at DTD and forgot that I might want the camera for dinner.

Hoop de Doo has been a must do every trip to Disney! We have been going since my DDs were 7 and 8 and they are now 15 and 16 and they still have this as one of their faves. It is just a really fun show for any age, with great all you can eat/drink home cooked food. It is definitely an experience!!:yay:

There is NO comparison betwewen HDD and T Rex. NONE
HDDR is great!!! We have been several times.
It is good "homestyle" cooking of fried chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, beans, corn bread, salad and strawberry shortcake. It is all you care to eat and includes beer (Bud Light Draft), wine and sangria.
The show is lots of singing, dancing, corny jokes and audience interaction. It is really great.
Have a Great Trip.

I know I have seen pics in restaurant reviews and the food looks good. I don't think I ever read a bad review about it.

Funny but DH and I were just talking about this show this morning. I have not been to it -- but told DH of ANY show that WDW does (or in the area like Cirque), HDDR would be the one I was most interested in.

We stay at the Poly but reading reviews and having stayed close enough to hear the Luau show, I am not interested in that one at all. But HDDR sounds like fun! Thanks for the comments though I am not sure the OP has made up thier mind yet.

My family loved the entertainment!! It was hilarious! The food that night not so good but we've been there before and it was great. I think our waiter was having an off night! I thought my boys (11 &10) were going to pee their pants laughing.

If you haven't done it, it is worth it. Check with them at the time of reservation for discounts....

Enjoy

For what it's worth, here's a shot of a plate of the food......

It was really good the night we were there! My boys also loved the show (ages 6, 8 and 11 at the time).

.

I haven't been to T-Rex but we loved HHDR when we went. The food was good and DH got picked to go on stage and that was hilarious.

Now I am excited about the HDDR, but what is T-Rex?

T-Rex is Rainforest Cafe, but with dinosaurs. It is owned by the same company. A really cool place if you're into dinosaurs. BUT...

I would eat CS the entire trip in order to afford HDDR. Seriously. It is that good. The show, the food, the personal mini pitcher of Bud Light...

DD4 is enraptured the whole time. DD1 didn't move the entire show, except to eat. Kids love it, parents enjoy it (because the kids are occupied I think...). I cannot say enough about HDDR.
