I am trying to decide if the Hoop De doo would be too much for a 9 month old? I know my 3 year old would love it.... What are your thoughts?

Should I save my money and do it another year?

My thought is to save your money now and do this another year when both your kids can enjoy it. When they are, say, 2 and 5 that would be terrific IMO.

Babies at 9 months can be iffy. The noise and dancing may be ok or lead to a screaming fit. You know your child best but I'd still suggest to wait.

Hmmm... I can let you know in about 6 mos! We're taking our crew (dh, me, and kids aged 9,8,and 4 yrs) plus my SIL and BIL (and 2 nephews, aged 4 yrs and one about 8 mos when we go). We hemmed and hawed about whether to do it, but decided what the hey, let's go for it. We got the earliest seating, and we'll just hope he gets a good nap that day! We actually aren't even doing the parks that day -- just kinda lounging around the Boardwalk resort area and pool -- so that we can maximize our chances for "success" with ALL the kids!

If you DO go and you go before us, let ME know how it went! :)

We went when DS was 8 months old, and he did fine. He paid attention in the beginning. Then as it got later, we gave him a bottle and he ended up sleeping(noise and all). :D

It looks like you are going before me. We don't arrive until Sept 3rd. I think I am going to make PS arrangements and as the time gets closer I will have a better idea on how my son does in these situations. It so hard to tell right now since he is only 2 months old.

I just wanted to add another note to this - my DS was a little older - 1 - when he went and loved it. I was nervous about it a little and was definately figuring he would be passed out asleep for much of it and if not may want to stay put in the stroller to eat dinner so he would feel a little more secure about the environment so they let me keep my stroller next to the table with absolutely no hassle or problems - which was a side table near the left wall at the front of the stage. My DS ended up staying up for the whole show and sitting in the high chairs provided and loved every minute of it. They are very accomodating of little, little children.

You would know best how your baby reacts to loud sounds. The music, singing and applause from the audience is loud. We took our 7 month old and she did fine. We went to the first show and brought her carseat for her. She ended up falling asleep and stayed asleep even with the performers singing a song right next to her!!

We took our son when he was 11 mos old. I dont remember any problems. If your baby appears the be skittish around charactures, just try to position the highchair away from walkways, because they do come down onto the floor. But I dont remember this being one of the places we had trouble with our son and the people (he wanted no part of the charactures this trip).

Yes, definitely make your ressies now. Priority seating for this show is done (so I'm told) based on order of ressies by DATE. Earlier ressies assure you of getting the time spot you want as well as a better liklihood of not being upstairs (which has it's finer points, I'm sure, but I think it could be a hassle if you had to go change a diaper or walk the child a bit or whatever... plus, it's like church -- my kids always did better on the front row -- they prefer to be in the action. Too distant and they lose interest altogether!)

I think you have to pay the deposit like 30 days out or something like that? Before then you should know if your ds is amenable to restaurants and a bit of commotion (mellow baby versus overly sensitive!)

Sounds like your ds is exactly the same age as my nephew then (Jayson was born Dec. 1st)! I'll let you know how it goes! :)
