Has anyone done the Hoop Dee Doo with a wheelchair? We just made ressies for the 7:15 show. We are a group of 9 and my DS has a wheelchair. Anyone ever seen the show with a wheelchair? Are we going to be stuck way way way in back?? Are all the tables handicapped access???

When we have gone to the Hoop De Doo, We have sat all over the place! My sister is in a wheelchair and we sat up front by the stage, in the back, and when there was a large group of us we had the center table.

So no they don't stick you all the way in the back!!

When I first called I was not aware that there were Catagories for seating. I picked a time and a date but was not able to get first seating for the 7:30 show only the 5:00 show. When I called back to check to see if the 7:30 time had opened up I was asked about catagories and if I was using the DP. I had no idea. If you use DP you are in cat 2 or 3. You can only be given seats in cat 1 if you are paying out of pocket. Hmmmmmmm I called early and still are in cat 2 and I was never asked how I was paying. I asked if we could get seating for the 5 or 7:30 show cat 1 as we will be paying out of pocket but was told they were now full. I rebooked for cat 2 at 7:30 but am a little disappointed DS sometimes has a hard time paying attention unless he is up close he has vision problems along with his many other diabilities. I wish i had know to ask in the first place. I wish they had not jumped to the conclusion that I was using our DP for this dinner even though we had it. Oh well, live and learn.

We made a reservations for the HDDR 8 months before our April trip last year, I stressed how my dd was in a wheelchair, and we had to pay extra to be on the floor , which was fine but whenever we got there they didn't have it noted that she was in a wheelchair, so they put us on the floor but we were in the far back and she couldn't see, she couldn't see over kids standing in chairs and larger adults, it totally sucked for us, but the folk around us had a ball.
Make sure they know you have a wheelchair member or it will be bad for them.

You need to make them aware of the other issues such as vision. Since I use sing language interpreters I have always been towards the front so I am able to see them. They should try to accommodate your son's needs. Just being in a wheelchair doesn't translate to a need to be near the front.

I will for most things it is not a problem but for a show like this I know if he can't see well but he can hear it will be a huge problem with him trying to see and getting frustrated. He will cry and that will be the end of a nice evening. I am wondering though if they can get us "good" seats beucase we are using DP I was not aware all the Cat 1 are for paying customers.

Keep hounding WDW to get it changed to catergory 1 and emphasize that you will pay for the admission instead of DP and that he has vision problems. Hopefully an opening will happen.

I am going to call weekly to see if anything opens up. We have a Grand Gathering so I think I will call both places and Special Services. I am willing to pay so I dont feel like we will be taking away someone elses seat. Thanks for the support!
