I'm considering this, but not sure if we will enjoy it? :confused3

Can someone who has done it before tell me why it's so popular?

I'm trying to plan some fun things to get my kids over their disappointment over the cancellation of the Pirate & Princess Parties.

TIA for any input!!:flower3:

Well for me, its the free beer and endless of amounts of comfort food! My kids enjoy the show (I do too), they find it fun and enjoy the interraction. Its so expensive, back when I had an AP and could get 20% off with my Disney Dining Experience Card, I could justify it. Now that I don't well, I probably won't be rushing to do it again.

Its nothing fancy but I find the food good and the show is fun. I also enjoy the Ft. Wildnerness area and so enjoy going over there.

And the free beer, did I mention that! Free beer my a** of course. For what you pay it ought to be free!

My kids are 12 and 14 btw, and they just love it. I think this sort of thing has sort of replaced the character meal craze for them. Its fun, but they don't have to stand there and get their picture made every five minutes which my son in particular appreciates. Its just good clean fun. And free beer!

I have gone about 5 times or so.. a good show, lots of dancing, funny antics, etc. However... when we went a month ago, the food was not as good as it used to be. The strawberry shortcake, in which I craved all year long was so dry, I couldn't eat it. It was a big disappointment - we won't rush back.

I too wondered what could be so great about this show.

Was I in for a surprise!

This is the greatest! The servers were fun, the show was entertaining. It was well worth the $$ (or dining plan credits!) We had a great time, the kids LOVED it and I had all the chardonnay I wanted!:goodvibes

I will do the HDDMR again and again. I'm so glad we finally made it over to Ft. Wilderness to try it. You will be glad you did!:thumbsup2

This is one the top of my must-do list next time.

If I could only decide when our next time is going to be. :confused3 :thumbsup2

Here are some photos from our trip to HDDR in November....:)

Is this something my girlfriend and I could do? Or is it more of a the-more-people-the-merrier type thing?

Is balcony seating ok, or are we better off with the level 1 or 2 for the price difference?

DH and I have done this alone and with big groups. We have had a great time EVERY time. We love it....the all you can drink beer and sangria push it over the top as a GREAT experience!!:thumbsup2

Don't worry, there are enough people in there and the tables are pretty close together...you won't feel lonely!

I always love to sit on the main floor, and up close to the stage. But, if you can't get it, the balcony is fine. It is still fun and a great view. The place isn't all that big. And they serve the same food up there!

I did the HDDR for the first time when I was 14. We laughed the entire time. I took DH for our Honeymoon and he loved it, too. Now it is a must-do for every trip. The food is great, the show is funny and the 'free' beer and sangria make it even better.

DO IT!!!:thumbsup2 This a must do for us every trip. My kids who are the same ages LOVED it.:lovestruc The show is funny, slapstick, join-in entertainment for any age.:rotfl: This was also my DH's favorite meal--all you can drink beer/sangria and the heartiest, all you can eat comfort food(fried chicken, cornbread, ribs, mashed potatoes, baked beans, salad, strawberry shortcake):drinking1 popcorn::

Well my opinion comes from many moons ago. When I was there in let's say 87 with my parents for my brothers graduation trip, it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The dancing, sounds, atmosphere. There was even a comic show and they picked my baby brother out of the crowd to go on stage and be part of the act. I love that about Disney that those things are actually possible. I would do that show again and again but I don't have a lot to compare it too either. A lot of these different options that are there now were not there in the past for me.

My family loves the HDDR! Even my 17 DD lloves it and she's not a WDW fan.
They have the best fried chicken!!:goodvibes
It's a fun place enjoyed by all. Worth every penny!!!!!

Thank you all SO MUCH for the reviews and photos.

Can't wait to add this to our itinerary. It looks like so much fun!
