I just called today to make resi for June 19 07 and I learned 2 things. #1 I can't make those itll Dec 21. No problem. It'll be like an early Christmas present. #2 you choose what area you sit in when you make resi. Area 1 is on the lower level, area 2 is the last row on the floor and the 1st row of the balcony and area 3 is in the balcony, down the sides. No dinning plans are accepted for area 1.

I've never been here but we are looking forward to spending DD8 b-day here and we will be an the dinning plan. Should we pay cash for the area 1 or will 2 be ok.

Thank!

We just saw the show last Wednesday and it was great. We really enjoyed it. No matter where you sit you will have a good view of everything. On the main floor the "actors" go in the middle and do a song, they also go around to the ones with birthdays & anniversaries. Use the dining plan unless you absolutely want to sit in the front. My DS's who are 9 & 7 laughed so much thru the show. They already want to go back to it. Enjoy it!!! :goodvibes

Do they let you know at the time you make the reservation whether you are in Cat 2 or 3? (when using the DP)I posted this question a few weeks ago & didn't get a response.
TIA

I don't like the sound of this change, but who am I?

Do you mind eating late? Both times we have gone to the HHD we went on a Sunday at the 9 or 9:30 show in August. Both times the main area didn"t even fill up. We were always close to the stage even with 12 people.

They used to seat you by order of reservations. I wonder why the change. Using the DDP dosn't qualify you for the better seats?
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

They also use to have it if you had kids under a certain age you were on the floor and not upstairs. Lately every year when we pay OOP instead of dp we have been on the floor like close to the stage.

We have always used the dining plans for the past six years and been right up front.
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

They changed it for 2007 as their are now three tiers to the pricing depending on where you sit. The most expensive, center stage is not available to the DDP.

So does this mean their are three diffrent prices If I were paying out of pocket?

Is it really worth 2 TS? I have been thinking about making a reservation for when my family goes in May of '07 but get caught up in the price and usage of our TS services. My DH and I will be taking our 2 and 4 year old sons, and I am wondering-- for the money, will they like it or not. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ann

The show is worth 2TS-the meal is good, but the show is great. We always pay out of pocket and save our 2 TS for something else. I would at least see it once and see what you think.

From what I understand the price difference isn't that big so I would pay the extra money for the category 1 seats and get the best ones. The balcony is good but not in the middle of the action. I would want to be in the middle of it all if I was paying that much and it will be more fun for the birthday you are celebrating. Enjoy the show!

Yes, everyone has a different price according to where they want to sit (those paying cash included).

I personally don't think the credits are worth the value - I would rather pay out of pocket for the seats I wanted and not worry about using credits. I just think I can get a lot more value out of using 2 credits at someplace like CA Grill instead. Course, paying OOP for seats for a large family is $$$$ and using dining plan credits helps cut that down.

Are these changes only for 2007 dates?

I have a HDDR reservation for the end of this month (Sept) and was going to use the DDP 2TS credits. But, if that means we'll be stuck up in the balcony I'd probably just pay out of pocket for the show.

Been there once ,last summer. I would not waste my points to go there again. We sat on the 2nd floor ,off to the sides and had to turn around away from our table to see the show while eating . Did not enjoy the time at all , not worth the $ or points IMHO.
I would treat your son to a birthday dinner @ OHana's...dd9 loved the hula hoop contest and coconut rolling/sweeping games there last summer when we went . Good Luck planning ! :thumbsup2

I haven't made the arrangements yet, but it sounded like you decided which teir you wanted. So you should know a general area (teir) where you will be but not an exact location.

This same change will also take place for the Spirit of Aloha Luau. Here is a message that I resently got in a newsletter the themouseforless.com:

New Tiered Pricing for Dinner Shows
Disney has announced that beginning in 2007 there will be new seating categories and tiered pricing for the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. Prices are as follows:
Category 1 Adults $58.99 Children $29.99
Category 2 Adults $54.99 Children $26.99
Category 3 Adults $50.99 Children $25.99
At the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Category 1 seating is on the first floor nearest the stage; Category 2 is either on the first floor behind the Category 1 seating or in the middle of the balcony; and, Category 3 seating offers tables located on the right and left hand side of the balcony. At the Spirit of Aloha dinner show, Category 1 is on the lower level in the center and nearest to the stage; Category 2 tables are in the lower level and are located either on the left or right side of the stage or are in the upper level directly behind the Category 1 seating; and, Category 3 tables located in the lower level to the extreme far right or far left of the stage or the majority of the upper level tables.

not sure why they are doing this??? money?? :confused3

i think that this can be bad and good. For those who want to be sure WHERE they are seated, they'll have a guarantee (as there was no guarantee before). the cheapest seats will probably go first, leaving the most expensive left for those who wait last minute to book.

I would choose the seats closest to the stage. :teeth:
We really enjoyed this show and the singers do come out onto the floor to sing and chatter with the audiance. This happened to us and it was a hoot!! :rotfl:

We are going the end of September and would like to know how do they seat you now. Is it something you have to request when you book your ADR, or do they still go by whoever books first, gets the better seats?
