I will need to rent an ECV for my upcoming trip to WDW. I am in an aircast due to an injured tendon in my foot. We have reservations for the Hoop de Doo Review. I know there is a boat we can take to Fort Wilderness from the Magic Kingdom. My question is, is this boat ECV friendly? Or will we have to take a bus to the show? thank you.

the largest of the 3 types of boats can handle an ECV --DW uses one. we had to wait for it so i'd advise allowing a little extra time. the CM's were great about tracking down the boat we needed so it worked out very well for us.

if you are at a park you can do just as well taking a bus to VWL as there is a 10 or so minute walk between WL and FW. Or there is also a bus directly to FW.

From MK to FW you should be fine using the cruiser. That route generally has two cruisers on it so you should not have to wait for "the next boat", the WL to MK route the PP mentioned only has one cruiser and one launch so waiting can happen. The bus route is possible, but I would not recommend it since it requires waiting for 2 buses, and depending on how you feel about loading/unloading onto the buses that may be a problem. HDDR is at FW, not WL, generally there is no direct bus from MK to FW.

I would allow a fair amount of extra time. Because of the number of people in front of me using an ECV, I had to wait for the 3rd boat. They can only accommodate two people in ECVs. There is the rare boat that can take three people using a scooter (or maybe the cast member broke the rules). This might not happen to you. Most of the time there wasn't a wait. But, since you have a reservation, extra time is always a good thing. Have fun. :)
