I have 2 questions -
We are landing at MCO at 7:15pm and staying at AKL Kidani. Is there any hope we can do Hoop De Doo at 9:30 that evening?
Would a 16yo Disney fanatic enjoy the show or is there something else we can do super late in the day?

We originally were supposed to arrive the day before my dd's sweet 16. Plans changed and we are traveling on her actual birthday and arriving at 7:15pm. I would still like to acknowledge her actual birthday with a special meal or something. I was thinking a Wishes cruise but those are even earlier.

Are you on the dining plan?

If you aren't, I would recommend getting a cab from the airport, that's about the ONLY way you'd make it to hoop-de-doo on time, and that's an expensive cab ride.

Extremely doubtful, unless you will be renting a car or getting a taxi and driving directly to Fort Wilderness. Even if you do get a car or taxi, any flight or transportation delay at all will result in your missing a reservation you have already paid for.

Arriving that late by air, I would pick something to do for which you are not required to pay ahead of time, or that doesn't require a credit card hold. That would also let out the fireworks cruise I believe.

my best suggestion would be to go to your resort and have a celebration dinner at jiko or sanaa if you think she'll like it...
another option would be room service, which my dd would love!

Could you have a special cake or gift basket delivered to the room?

I've never been but I know that things go wrong on the airline and traffic and such and I'd hate that nervous feeling of being so rushed and thinking that I might miss it, but also might lose out on the pre-payment.

I agree, I think the time line is too tight. What about going to Beaches N Creme for a "Kitchen Sink". They're open until 11. You could take a walk at the Boardwalk, and there should be other entertainment available as well.

Let's say your plane is on time and everything goes smoothly, you will arrive at AKL around 9pm. You'll want to get checked in, and if like me, just take off your shoes and say ahh we made it.
I would do Boma. Zebra Domes would be better than birthday cake. :) However, you can get them to do a cake there. And then you can be ready to take on a park the following day.

from MCO to AKL to B'walk and back to AKL is a lot of traveling after having just done a lot of traveling!

although we love the B'walk area (and are staying there for our upcoming trip) it's likely not the best plan for the OP's arrival night, esp given limited transportation options late at night...

OP, if you really want to do something outside your resort, how about Downtown Disney? there are a number of restaurants (our family enjoyed Raglan Road and Planet Hollywood) and they tend to stay open later and transport back to AKL would be readily available 'til the wee hours...

Definately wont make it, Only possible way would be to go straight to Fort Wilderness. Thats assuming that you arrive on time and you get ur rent a car or cab ride rather quickly.

well... as much as i want to lay down after travel... i want to eat even more  flying makes me hungry, lol. watch the park hours for that evening, maybe the magic kingdom will be open until 2am or something!! i know that i've had dinner reservations at ohana at 9:55 before, and we have another one coming up in 2 weeks at the same time for arrival evening.

If you will be doing DDP you would have to check in first to access your credits. AKL has been slow for us on check in fairly consistently too. For Sweet 16 I think Jiko would be so nice and no penalty if you ran late and couldn't make it.
