Which is best?

1) 4 pm Category 1 seating

2) 6:15 Category 3 seating

I'm leaning toward the 4 pm show, but we really don't eat so early.

Keep in mind that I haven't actually been since I was a kid (more than 30 years ago) but I just booked a 4 pm category 1.

I think it depends on how you want to spend your day. I want to eat an early dinner and leave the evening open for exploring resorts (headed to WL afterwards for sure) and possibly seeing if we can do the Pirates and Pals voyage that night.

I 2nd-guessed myself, though, and think category 3 would have been just fine. There are only 2 of us, though, so it's only a $17 difference.

So, really, I think it depends on how the rest of your day will go.

Maybe you're right, here. I found a 6:15 Cat 1 for another day, but it conflicted with a FP for the Mine Train. I couldn't change the times for the FP, so I decided to pass on the 6:15 show.

As far as the 4 pm show, I think what we'd do would be swim at the pool, loop in the golf cart for awhile, maybe go to DTD, or even walk over to the WL for a bit first. I was planning on it being a kind of "down" day, and that the Hoop show would be the highlight of the day.

I guess I could always keep calling back to ask about the 6:15 show for Cat 1, but I've already done that about 4 times already...:rolleyes1

I'd take the Category 1 over Category 3, which is on the balcony. We felt kind of left out when we were seated on the balcony.

Well, that's the other side of the coin. We'll be celebrating a birthday, and I'd like to feel that we are part of everything, so to speak.

I guess I'd better keep the 4 pm, and think about having a late breakfast, then hold off on anything else until the show. Sounds about right?

We also like Category 1, but.... All the shows are fantastic. Have you thought about the MK early at opening, coming back to the Fort for swim and rest, then the Hoop Dee Do Show, then head back to the MK? However, since some libations are free, you may want to think twice about that. Enjoy, it is an awesome fun show.

We did Cat 3 seating for the 4pm show back in March on the day of our arrival to the Fort. Only one other family up there and we sat directly across from the stage, not at a side angle. The cast did come up there twice during the show so we felt like we got some special attention.

We've done both Cat 1 and 2 in the past. It's all good though - I liked saving a FEW $$$ with Cat 3. Since it's so expensive we don't do it every visit or even every other. And I still liked the old songs better. But it is a lot of fun.

Thanks for posting the link to the seating chart. That helped a lot!

Looking at the chart, I realized that I would probably rather sit in Cat 3 than sit in the very back of the room in Cat 1. Decisions, decisions...

1) Cat-1 does not extend to the back of the room.
2) They do go eight rows back, which is not bad, as the room is small.
3) For seating,
. . . Cat-1 tables are main floor to-row8, they are the best seats
. . . Cat-2 tables are the seven tables in row9 on main floor
. . . Cat-2 tables are the last four on left/right wings
. . . Cat-2 tables are the eight rear balcony tables facing stage
. . . Cat-3 tables are the eight tables on both balcony sides

We have always done Cat2 seating and counted it as one of our big dinners for the trip. So it was in the budget, like others we usually go every other trip to WDW. There are so many great places to dine we just have to shuffle it around.

This has been one of my entire families favorites since the first time we went and always budget for the Cat 1 seating.

We have always been right next to the stage and the performers always take some time to stop and talk to us... for us, that little extra touch of magic is worth the extra $$$.

all a matter of opinion of course, but I would opt for CAT 1 if at all possible. :thumbsup2

Well, I guess I no longer have a quandary to worry over.

I was able to snag a Cat 1 table for the 6:15 show. :cool1: Woohoo!!

The price difference between Cat 1 and Cat 3 is not enough of an incentive to sit in the back or the balcony. We have been there four times and never been more than three rows from the stage. We love it every time.

We are so excited to go to the Hoop! It will be our first time to see the show, and I think the splurge on the Cat 1 tickets will be worth the cost. I'm hoping so, anyway. :thumbsup2

Okay, now another conundrum:

Friday night or Sunday night? Which makes better sense?

I thought since we would be in the MK Friday morning, we could go back after the Hoop for the parade and maybe a few rides, but Sunday is good because it might be a day off from everything.
