We are leaving on the 15th and I have reservations for both shows but think we only need one show. Which one is better for kids ages 8, 6, 6 and 1? Thanks!

We have only ever been to the BBQ and my children LOVE it. We have gone 4 or 5 times. This year we trying the HDD though.

We enjoyed the HDDR. I haven't been to Mickey's BBQ. It's outside so it can be hot in the summer/cool in the winter. I have also heard it's a bit of a pushing match to see the characters.

I think the food is similar at both places.

We did both last April and we really didn't care for Hoop dee doo. We loved MBYBBQ and we are going back again this year.

With little kids I'd do Mickey's BBQ - I've heard (not experienced) that they allow the kids to dance with the characters :confused3 Correct me if I'm wrong.

HDDR is better for the 8+ crowd. It's corny entertainment at it's best and fantastic for the teens who think all Disney shows are corny to start with.

We have done something similar to the HDD review before (albeit not at Disney) and I think my guys will love the BBQ. They won't care about whether they dance with the characters or not. They will love the show and the food. And we will hang around for a campfire and s'mores. Fun, fun!!
