It looks like we only will have the time/budget for one show while we are at the Wordl. I will be traveling with my DH, DD-9, DS-6. Which show would you reccomend for these ages.

I still remember Hoop De Doo from when I was 6! :D I have been to Cirque as an adult and was amazed!

Thanks!

Wow, that's a tough call. We've finally seen them both. We ended up with front row, center seats for the Hoop so my opinion might be jaded. I think overall, the dinner show was a blast. My kids laughed themselves silly. Would it have been different if we weren't so close up for them? Probably. They also loved Cirque too.

I guess I would vote for the Hoop dee Doo. It's just fun watching them laugh!

I never heard my kids laugh as hard as they did during the Hoop-De-Dooh review. I'm sure Cirqu de Soliel is great too, but, like Karen said above me, there's nothing that beats the laughter of children especially when they're your own.

Thank you both. Another questions, would you go to the show towards the beginning of your trip (start it off with a bang) or towards the end to end on a high note?

So, you need a counter opinion...! My boys, 10, 8, and 5 spent the entire Cirque show in awestruck silence! It was a highlight of their visit! Of course, they now are in danger of killing themselves or one another! But they have discovered some amazings ways to balance, etc.!

Have fun, regardless!

My 9 yo ds and I LOVED Cirque!!! He still talks about it.

Good luck making the choice.

I haven't been to Cirque -- but, being Canadian, I've seen them on TV so many times that it feels like I have. They are wonderful.

That said, we went to HDDR on our first night at WDW on 4 JAN. What a great way to begin a trip! Too late to go to a park -- but we had so much fun, and you can't beat that fried chicken. The audience interaction is wonderful -- whether from the CM in the show or the CMs waiting on the tables. We loved our server Wayne!

I have been to HDDR and Cirque, and they are both special experiences. Cirque, however, gets the edge over HDDR, for our family. Our DS was 9 (now 11) when we went to Cirque and he still talks about the experience.

We saw both in November- and Cirque would get my vote. We enjoyed both, but there was just something more magical to us about Cirque. My two DS's went, ages 6 and 7, and sat on the edge of their seats the entire time!!!

Thanks for all of the input. The only problem is, I'm now more confused than ever! Any one else?

I would have to vote for the HDDR - I have been 3 times and each time I go it gets better than the first.

DH and I are planning a trip for our son's 1 year birthday this October and we are SO excited to take him to the HDDR!

Our family loves Cirque. However, I don't personally associate it with WDW. As you probably know, there are a number of Cirque shows touring the globe at any given time and, in Toronto, a different show pretty much comes every year or two. We've probably seen 6 or 7 of their shows. I've already got tickets to the show in Toronto this summer but I passed on the one last summer. Anyways, you get the idea. So, even though I'd love to have found time to go on our upcoming trip, we're going to the HDDR to kick off our WDW trip on the night we arrive.

My suggestion is find out when (or if) Cirque is visiting a city near (or not so near) you and plan to see it then (although it will not be the same show as the Disney show). I believe they also have a couple of permanent shows in Vegas.

DH and I went to both....this trip neither with our girls, youngest will be 1.5 yrs. If you can do both, go for it. If not, and the kids haven't been to either....I think they'd enjoy Hoop Dee Doo this time.

I have always wanted to do Hoop but get a luke warm response from my crew. Last July we went to Las Vegas with our extended family and all 12 of us saw "O" the water based Cirque show, to say it was amazing would be an understatment! Now my kids can't wait to see La Nouba next year at WDW. I'll probably never get them to Hoop- oh well.
My kids are 9 and 12 by the way.

:sunny:

We went to La Nouba and didn't have a baby sitter for our 3 boys (5,3 1/2,2) and were expecting them to be bored during the show and not make it through the whole show. They were mesmerized by the whole event!!! I honestly think you can't go wrong with either show. I haven't been to the Hoop yet but am looking forward to it, I think my kids are going to love it from all the reviews I've read here. You'll have fun at either one I'm sure.

We are doing both for our trip in March with my ds who will have just turned 8! If your trip is later than mid-March, I :Pinkbounc would be happy to let you know when we get back!
