We have a 5:00 p.m reservation at Old Key West and I was told to allow 1 hour for travel. How long do you think it will take to get from Old Key West to the Hoop Dee Do?

Are you using Disney transportation or driving?

If you are using Disney transportation , I agree that it is wise to allow an hour. You have to either bus/boat/walk/ to Downtown Disney and catch a bus to Ft. Wilderness or you take the bus to the MK and then the boat to Ft. Wilderness (I recommend the last if you want to use Disney transport).

If you are driving or taking a taxi, you could allow less - maybe 30 -45 minutes. It's not a long drive, but IIRC, you'd have to take the internal Ft.Wildreness bus to get for the parking lot/drop off point to Pioneer Hall.

Best wishes -

We are going to Hoop de Doo on our first night at OKW next Saturday. We were planning on driving over to Wilderness Lodge and then taking the boat to Fort Wilderness. Hoping this might be a little more fun and possibly quicker than the internal bus. Any thoughts?

If you have a car, definitely drive yourself, but go directly to Fort Wilderness instead of Wilderness Lodge. The bus takes forever to HDHR.

When we stayed at WL, we took the boat to FW. The FW boat dock is about 100 yards from pioneer hall and HDDR. I found this more enjoyable than the internal bus at FW.

This sounds like a good plan. The only issue might be parking at the WL - if you are visiting during a busy period, you might not be allowed to park there.

Not sure if the boat would be quicker than the internal bus, though. In the end, it probably just comes down to how long you have to wait to board a boat vs how long you have to wait for an internal bus.

Best wishes -

Parking at VWL was my one concern - I don't want to do something not considered "proper" with respect to parking at a resort to use their transportation. VWL is our main home resort and the parking has never been maxed out on our previous trips. Hoping that late January will be a quiet time.
