I've read that where you are seated at these two depends upon when you made your ADRs, not what time you show up? I made ADRs for both 04/03/06 for the week of Sept 22nd-30th. However I know you can book both of these up to a year in advance. What do you think our chances are of getting good seats up front? Does showing up early help any at all?

There are many different explanations for where you are seated. Some say it is based on when you make the ADRs, others say it is when you show up at the podium that night, yet others say it is based on when you actually pickup your tickets. Who knows :confused3 . I would think there is a basic seating plan that is fine tuned as people pick up their tickets at the different resorts. I wouldn't think it was determined by when you actually check in...too hard to assign seats at that late time.
If I were you, I would pick up my tickets asap at the resort, then show up at the show as early as possible the night of the show...perhaps 45 mins ahead.

Thanks! That sounds like a good plan. We check in 09/22 and have Hoop Dee Do 09/26 and Luau 09/29, so I'll try to get our tickets for both on the 22nd. I forgot to ask though, where do you pick up the tickets? Guest Services at the resort? or do we need to go over to Fort Wilderness and the Poly?

You can pick them up at your resort front desk.

I am pretty sure it is when you order your tickets. We went to HDDR last October and ordered tickets pretty well in advance. We picked up our tickets the same day of the show, and were in the middle of the crowd when we arrived to be seated. We were seated at the front of the stage.

I heard that pretty soon the dinner shows will be 180 days in advance, I think starting after the first of the year.

And of course it also depends on how many people have reserved the dinner show too.

On your tickets it already displays where you will be seating so no need to show them early.
