Today was our day to book activities, and I noticed something that frankly, it kind of bugs me a little bit.
Now, don't get me wrong. I am far from the woke-est person on the block.
I noticed that the Hook's Barbery Fire & Ice Manicure/Pedicures are both $20 less than the Fire & Ice Manicure/Pedicures at Untangled. It kind of caught me off guard. It surprises me that, even simply for the optics of it, that DCL wouldn't have made them even. This feels like a viral TikTok video waiting to happen, you know what I mean?
I am sure some could argue that with the nail polish portion of it, women's treatments are more labor-intensive, whereas men would likely go with a simple clear coat. But, I think others would argue right back that, while that may be true, many men have very thick, tough, difficult nails, so in that sense, on balance, maybe men and women come out about the same.
Does it feel a bit like a Pink Tax to anyone else? Or, even if not, are you surprised DCL would open themselves up to criticism?
