Honolulu in TIER 4!!!

Does this mean that vaccinated people will not have to test even though they have not met the 60% rule?

watching this thread. We have a July 13 arrival on Oahu. This testing stuff is so confusing, especially if you fly out on a Tuesday.

Tier 4 is a county guideline, but safe travels is a state program. Oahu’s tier system has no bearing on the travel testing/quarantine requirement. All mainland travelers still need to test until the state’s vaccination rate is at least 60%.

I do not think they will accept the rapid test, right?
It is approved and many have used it. I am booking appointments for this Friday with Walgreens for our flight Monday to Maui. There is a lot of info on testing on tripadvisor Hawaii forum.

Has anyone heard anything about the possibility of Aulani opening up more rooms? I know they are operating at limited capacity, but I'm unclear if this is a Disney policy or state-mandated.

I would recommend following gohawaii.com guidelines.

we are flying out on a Tuesday. I was wondering why you think Tuesday’s are more confusing. I think every thing about this is confusing.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the worst days to fly to Hawaii due to the Covid pre testing requirement. It can be difficult to get a PCR test done that has to be mailed/fedex'd/ups'd because often there is no pickup that Saturday or Sunday (72 hrs before) and packages may not make any progress towards their destination.

The at home testing partners specifically say to use another approved testing partner if you fly on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Just be sure to schedule your testing a few days in advance when booking window opens up so you can get your preferred time.

I was planning on getting our testing after 12:15 on a Saturday at a Walgreens. Our connecting flight is 12:15 on Tuesday. Do you think this will not work?

Make sure to account for any timezone changes. In my case my final leg is at 10:50 am central time but I am in eastern. So I have to test after 11:50.

We have a Tuesday flight (I’m actually sitting on the plane right now!) and we used Walgreens ID Now NAAT test. We did it on a Saturday and had our results in an hour. Uploaded and approved by Hawaii an hour after that.

Dallas Lady, thank you so much for your info. I was starting to panic. Have a wonderful trip.

K donnel - yes, I've accounted for the time difference.
