Honolulu/Aulani Traffic Update

Before leaving, all I heard about was how awful the traffic was in Hawaii. We had rented a car and were prepared for the worst. We arrived at rush hour and the traffic really wasn't that bad. We drove for 2 weeks, often during rush hour and the traffic is your average city traffic. If you are used to living or driving near a city, you will be fine. I am used to Boston and Providence traffic and Honolulu wasn't any worse than that. Actually, I think traffic in the New England area was worse than anything I found. The H1 has 8 lanes on each side of the highway at some points! I just wanted to reassure people who might be worried about the traffic.

We didn't find traffic to be too much of an issue when we were there a few weeks ago...However, they were doing construction on H1 in the evening, and that really caused a back up trying to get to Aulani at 11pm..took almost 2 hours.
