Hollo!

I have a question, We are planning to visit DL in Hong kong.

Can We stay DL hotel in Hongkong by DVC?

There is not yet an option for using DVC points at the new resort in Hong Kong. There may be in the future. You can currently use DVC points to stay at DL Paris, but not at DL Tokyo. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

I would like to know how the rates are on the rooms. Please post if you get the infomation. We were in Hong Kong for 2 nights in 1999 and would love to go back. A visit to Disney while there would be great. :flower:

Just thought I'd mention that the US$ exchange rate is approximately US$1 to HK$7.8. In other words, take the Hong Kong price and divide by 7.8

Usually your credit card company will give you a lesser exchange due to their service charges, so you might actually get an exchange rate of 7.6 or 7.7

Thanks for the web site link for the DL Hotel Hong Kong.

A friend of mine was recently at Hong Kong DL. She told me that she and her friend had wanted to stay onsite but that they charge differently there ? She explained it that they charge per person/per night (not just simply per night) ? Is this true ? I'm not sure if, with the language barrier, maybe she misunderstood ? But if they charge the rate per person, that would make it very costly ?

Of course, I can't speak for your friend, and I've never stayed at HK DL, but I've stayed at the JW Marriott, Shangri La and other hotels in Hong Kong and throughout Asia. My experience has been that the room rate includes 2 people. When friends and I were visiting Thailand, my friends had 3 in their room since their 20 year old son was with them. There was an additional charge for the 3rd person. Perhaps that is what the Disney Hong Kong hotel was referring to -- if the occupancy is greater than 2, there will be an "extra person" charge?

I wouldn't count on being able to use DVC points for Hong Kong anytime soon. Reportedly the Oriental Land Company (majority owner of both Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland) has shown zero interest in working through the details required to allow DVC to make reservations on its members behalf.

This may be a case where even overwhelming member demand wouldn't have a bit of impact.

Just rent points and pay cash for the room.

Everything I have read about Hong Kong DL states that it will not be open until September of this year. So how was your friend there? Just curios :confused3 Is it open already?

Sorry ! I asked her....she went to Disney Tokyo in Sept '04. But she told me it was just she and her roomate and they were going to charge the nightly rate to "each" of them to stay onsite ? Hope I understood her correctly on this.
