Hi everyone, this board has been extremely helpful! My FH and I will be honeymooning (or should I say disneymooning...hehe) in March 2007 (right after the st. patty's holiday for one week). I have a couple questions. Any idea what the crowds will be like? We're staying at POFQ, any help/reviews good and bad are appreciated. Also, I just bought the disney bride and groom ears. I know my FH will NOT stand to wear them...haha. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with just one person wearing them (i.e., just the bride or just the groom), and if you get any special treatment. Thanks so much!!!!!

Well the only part of that I can answer is about POFQ. We stayed there this past September and loved it. It's small and quiet. There's no full service restaurant, but you can walk/drive to Riverside and use their restaurant (they also have the same refillable mugs). FQ has beautiful grounds, so just take some time walking around. I would suggest walking up to Riverside and doing a carriage ride...that's very romantic!!

Hey denisec7180!

I am going to be down there the week before you! (March 8-17). We are getting married on March 9 @ Sea Breeze Point! We are also staying at POFQ! From what I have heard and read the spring break crowds (VERY large crowds) start filtering in around the last two weeks in March. So you may see some crowds while you are there.

Congratulations and Good Luck! When is your wedding?

Welcome to the wedding boards denisec7180
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and Disneymoon! The crowds should not be too bad and the weather will be great, not too hot :beach: My only advice is please do not be disappointed if you do not get any special treatment. Some couples do and some don't. We got a couple things, nothing major, but we didn't advertise that we had just gotten married either (no ears, no pins). We didn't even get a king size bed that we requested 3 times (not a big deal, but an example of how you don't always get what you ask for). If you go into it not expecting any special treatment or freebies than you will be pleasantly surprised if you get some and not too terribly disappointed if you don't. Just being in Disney is magical enough - enjoy your honeymoon and your new hubby!!

Thanks sooooo much for the advice!! I definitely won't get my hopes up, I know how hard it is to accomodate everyones' requests. I do plan on wearing my bride ears, though I know the hubby won't be wearing his. I would be happy with simply getting a room upgrade, although I am not expecting that either. I have made several advanced dining reservations and have noted that it is our honeymoon, though I'm not quite sure if they will do anything special here either. I booked Mama Melrose's dinner as well as Chef Mickey for both breakfast and dinner. Any other suggestions? Thanks again!

DF only promised me Mickey ears for one day at MK, the other days he agreed to a black baseball hat that says Groom in white stitching. I bought it from The Knot.

Maybe if you can't even get that out of him :rotfl: you could just have him wear a plain black baseball hat. That paired with your adorable ears will definately attract "Bride and Groom" attention. Just a thought! :goodvibes

You may get some special place mats at Chef Mickey's. We had just gotten engaged, and went to CM's the next morning. We got "It's our special day" place mats, and all the characters pointed at them and then we had to explain that we were celebrating out engagement. You get to take the placemats home as well. Just a little something, but definitely cute!

we were married at disney march 21st 2006  & arrived march 15th 2 days before st. patty's & the crowds werent bad at all. we were able to do all the rides at the themeparks with little wait, easter was in april this year so i would check the calendar for 07. st. patty's was alot of fun at dtd, we went to the raglan road & we all wore green. as for the ears my hubby didnt like the groom ones but i wore the bridal ear headband after the wedding & we both wore the just married buttons on our disneymoon. we did get a few extras which were nice glasses, last minute ride at test track & free dessert.

disney is great, enjoy your disneymoon!

Wow, thanks so much!!! I'm very nervous about the crowds, especially a younger spring break crowd possibly being around while we're honeymooning. We'll be there March 19-26 (2 days after patty's day--our wedding date), and Easter this year falls the second week in April, so I'm hoping we're ok with crowds. Can anyone maybe tell me the temps. around this time of year? Will it be warm enough for shorts and tanks, pool weather, etc.? Should I bring a sweater? Sorry for all the questions, I've been to Disney several times before, though not since 2002, but have always gone in summer. Thanks so much!!!

Denise, I would check accuweather or weather.com they should have some historic weather trends for you. Also, my hubbie did not wear the ears all of the time either. You know, we just got alot of well wishes and that meant the world to me. I love POFQ, it reminds me so much of home since I am from Louisiana. My DH has decided it is one of his favorite now! I am glad. We also ADORE the Poly.

Easter is actually the first weekend..beacuse the weekend after that is my wedding and disneymoon!

i used to go to wdw every year during college for spring break, but it was always during the first 2 weeks in march, not the last. but every single time it was like we had the parks to ourselves. it was awesome! we could pretty much do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted, with minimal lines. i LOVE going then because the weather is definitely hot enough to lay by the pool and wear shorts, but not so hot that it's uncomfortable like the summers can tend to get.

we didn't have much rain at all, but it did get a bit chilly at night--definitely sweatshirt or light jacket weather.

i hope you have an amazing time! we often stayed at dixie landings, which is a sort-of sister resort of POFQ, and always loved it.

have fun planning and have a wonderful wedding and disneymoon!!
p.s. welcome to the disboards! :wave2: i am a newbie too, so it's nice to meet you!

HI! Thanks everyone for the info about Crowds and weather for March. I am getting married on March 18th in disney. We are going from 3-14 to 3-22. I am so excited! St. Patty's day should be fun. ITs good to hear it may not be so crowded as I have some fussy family who hates crowds. Lets pray the weather is beautiful the whole time for everyone on here who will be going in March. :sunny:

Yes, I hope the weather is gorgeous next March...haha. Thanks so much everyone for all your tips and info. Congrats to everyone else that will be celebrating as well. Anyone have any recommendations for me as far as dining, etc.? I would actually really like to surprise my fiancee with something nice while we're there. Any suggestions (other than the carriage ride, I don't think he'd be into that...haha). Thanks!

If you want to do something fun for dinner I suggest the Hoop De Doo Dinner show. We are taking out our family a few days before the wedding , its a blast. Or you can book a romantic dinner for 2 at the Grand Floridian outside for wishes, it will cost you but I have heard alot of couples do this for thier 1st anniversary.
