Right, I know it's still over a year and a half away, but lately I've been getting excited for planning our Honeymoon as opposed to the wedding day.

I'm embracing it as really I have done all I can towards the wedding at this early stage!

So we're currently thinking of something along these lines:

Sat: Arrive check into hotel (maybe AKL/WL or a Mod)
Sun: Same hotel
Mon: rehersal, me and my parents move to GF
Tue: Wedding, wedding night in standard GF room.
Wed: Move to our Comp night (we may pay extra to have a suite

[As an aside Jack wanted our wedding night in the Comp room, but I have managed to convince him otherwise as I want to really take advantage of CL and want to be able to enjoy it from 3pm till 11am! Also I want to watch wishes from our room, which we couldn;t do on the wedding day obviously]

Thu-Thu: Move to whichever may be our favourite Deluxe (we are going to go look at them all in october) If our honeymoon is all at WDW we'll do the epcot segway tour, KTTK, go to discovery cove etc.

But Now I'm considering maybe doing a Disney cruise on the Thursday for a few days, and then reutrning back to WDW for the last couple of days.

Are the cruises good for honeymooners? Would we be better opting for a more grown up cruise? Should we jsut stay put at WDW?

There are just too many options!!

I will share you with our plans so far as it might help (or might not!)

Sun - arrive stay at a mod or DVC with our families (I may live to regret this but want to keep us together to make things easier for getting around etc)

Mon - welcome dinner at Ohanas - watch wishes, give out welcome bags

Tues - Group trip to discovery cove - 20 of us

Wed - Keys to the kingdom tour - again 20 of us :scared1: evening meal and then I am going to move hotel room alongwith my bridesmaid

Thurs- wedding day

Fri - lie in - give people a day to do their own thing

Sat - Good bye meal somewhere (everyone else leaves - hopefully :rolleyes1)

Sun - Thurs Disney 4 night cruise

Thurs - Sun 4 night disneymoon at the Yacht or Beach Club then home :sad1:

We are keeping to the same hotel for the first week to keep everyone together, for that reason we wont be doing deluxe as I dont want to force those hotel prices on everyone. The only problem is that I would ideally like to spend our wedding night somewhere plush so I might move to a deluxe the night before the wedding and stay in that room on our wedding night - not sure yet! But keep the room in the mod/DVC to come back to?

We have timed our wedding trip to concide with the disneycruise - so we can be on our own for the second week. As much as I love my family (and Henry's) I can only cope with 1 week of organised activites :rotfl:

I am biased as I have booked a disney cruise :boat: but I think they look amazing! If Jack isnt keen on too much dinsey I would look at the other cruise companies though as they are much cheaper then Disney and when I looked we could get a suite for the price of a normal cabin on the disney cruise!

My advice is this - if you have been to disney world a number of times and have already done the rides and seen the shows then do the cruise. If you aren't as familiar with disney world then there is going to be so much to do that I would just stay put.

As far as grown up cruises go - my sister (who one could easily call a disney hater) just came back from a royal carribean cruise on one of their new ships and said it didn't even compare to the disney cruises we have been on in the past. She said specifically that the shows were poorly done - the food was very average and served in very small quantities and that there was really nothing much to do other than to drink and gamble.

I would stick with disney. A lot of times you will find that adults will go on the disney cruises and leave their kids at home :lmao:

Thank you!

I must say I had a look at the Royal Carribbean site in my lunch hour as I saw that they also have ships leave from Port Canaverel, and I looked at the rooms and they just don't compare to the disney ones!!

Also we would have to get a verandah room on DCL as Jack wouldn't go for it unless we had a balcony, and a 4 night cruise costs more that 4 nights full price at GF CL, so I think WDW may win out on price.....

But the cruise looks soooo amazing!!

I didn't realize you were coming from the UK. I would just stick to WDW for now. The new ships are coming out in 2011 and 2012 I would just wait until you have young kids and take them. Perhaps they will still be running the summer cruise out of dover in the future.

You won't be disappointed with the GF.
