Hello, I am new to the board. I am in the process of buying a 100 point contract to start as a dvc member with my fiancee.

My mother-in-law has given us her points next year as a wedding gift for our honey moon and we will be staying at SSR for 9 nights in June. My question is when can we start booking dinners, golf, shows, tours, surfing lessons, etc? I had heard since it is a honey moon it can be up to a year in advance...if not can anyone instruct me?

Also any honey moon recomendations will be warmly welcomed.

thanks, Chris

I believe you can start booking dinner/shows 180 in advance.

Hi Chris,

Congratulations on your pending marriage and subsequent Disney Honeymoon!

A nice romantic option for things to do, outside of the obvious.., would be a couple's massage at the GF or SSR Spa.

Best wishes!

Upon arrival, make certain you inform the check-in desk CM you speak to that you're on your honeymoon. Disney does put a few free special touches on things if you let me know this (like the "just married" buttons they gave us to wear, which all the CM's are trained to respond to).

Our May 2006 honeymoon went very well in WDW - thanks to all the wonderful cast!

Disney is a WONDERFUL place to honeymoon! We enjoyed our honeymoon last October at the BCV and are going back this October for our 1-year!

We did a couples massage at the GF, I highly recommend doing that. Definitely tell anyone and everyone you are on your honeymoon and wear the Mickey and Minnie bride & groom ears! You will get a lot of attention with those!

I don't know if they are still doing this but I contacted Debbie at the Coral Reef restaurant in Epcot well in advance and surprised my new husband with a diver holding up a personalized sign in the tank while we ate dinner and also had personalized menus made up for us! It is FREE (at least it was last year) and it made for such a wonderful surprise and last night of our honeymoon. Definitely the highlight of our trip!

Some other ideas are a carriage ride around the Port Orleans resort, watching the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian, or even better, from the California Grill restaurant atop the Contemporary. We did the dining plan and thought that it was well worth it, especially to try out some nice restaurants that we had never been to before. I also ordered a gift basket off of the disneyflorist.com and had it delivered to our room the first day of our trip. The basket had the bride and groom ears, a bottle of wine, 2 Disney toasting glasses, and some cheese and crackers. Have a great time planning and enjoy every minute of it!

OMG I almost forgot the most important thing..... DEFINITELY, if you are having a shower, register with the Disney honeymoon registry! I didn't think anyone would choose this option, but we got over $1000 to help with expenses on our honeymoon!
