I everyone! I am a Disneyland vet who's fiancé just recently popped the question there. :) We decided it was fitting to try the World for our honeymoon. Our date is March 22nd so the trip would be sometime after that. Planning this trip is SO overwhelming and I don't even know where to start. I was looking at the contemporary resort, but of you guys know of a great honeymoon hotel I am all ears. Also, how far ahead should I book this thing? Thanks in advance everyone. I am so excited to have found a thread of Disney brides! Congratulations to everyone!

Congratulations!

The DIS is a great place to start planning, though you may also want to pick up a guidebook for an overview before you dive into the specific questions and answers found all over these boards.

I think a case can be made for just about any Disney hotel as being great for a honeymoon—it really depends on what you are after. Do you want to be near the parks? Which parks? Do you plan to use many of the amenities at the resorts or mostly be in the parks all day? Will you have a car? Is there a particular decor or theme that appeals to you? etc....

The Contemporary is great because it's so close to the Magic Kingdom and all the restaurants and fireworks-viewing spots of the other hotels on the monorail line. The Grand Floridian's Victorian theme and exceptional customer service make it appealing to lots of honeymooners, while others prefer the tropical feel of the Polynesian. I like the BoardWalk-area resorts because I spend the most time at Epcot and I like their decor. There are SO many factors to consider that are unique to your taste and situation.

As for booking, I usually start with a reservation as soon as I know I'm going and then keep my eyes peeled for discounts and promotions that come out along the way. You can then modify or rebook as needed, but at least you had something to start with. (This is all for room-only reservations—packages have rules that might make this trickier.)

Yay and congrats! You'll have so much fun at Disney World! We'll be honeymooning at Disney and on the DCL starting April 6, 2014.

Honestly, any of the hotels will be fine for any honeymoon...it really just depends on the couple and what they want. I know for us, even though my fiance gave us the choice of any hotel, we are still staying at the Art of Animation (which is a value resort) because it's just so much FUN! :) Plus we can use that extra savings to spend more in the parks. :goodvibes

We are going to reserve our Disney Cruise as soon as possible...in the next few weeks. We will reserve our room at the AoA in the next two months. It's always best to reserve as soon as you know for sure that you will be going during that time, though you can always move the dates around. :thumbsup2
