My fiance' and are are honeymooning next August at WDW but are on a fairly tight budget. Which of the moderate hotels would you recommend for a romantic 4 day honeymoon. We will probably spend a lot of time at the parks but would like to relax in a peaceful setting. Which hotel did you find to be the most romantic and why?

Thanks:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I'll try to help you out as much as possible. First of all, CONGRATS! Second, I would look into the Port Orelans Riverside. Its a very quite and peaceful setting. Ask to be in the "Alligator Bayou" or something. This is the quietest part of the hotel.

I've never been to the carribean beach resort. I've heard it is a little noisy and a huge hotel. People recomend it if you don't mind walking 20 min. for your morning coffee.

The Coronado Springs seems pretty cool, but I have no Info on it.

I definetly would choose the Port Orleans Riverside with what I know. We've been twice, and love it.

Here is a good link to "DEBS" they have tons of info.

We honeymooned at Disney too, and stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. That resort has two sections... Alligator Bayou (think Huck Finn cabins) and Magnolia Bend (think Gone with the Wind mansions). We had a king bed in the mansion section and had a wonderful time!!! We liked the resort because it was beautifully landscaped and very peaceful and quiet. It also has carriage rides and a boat ride to DTD, which none of the other moderates (besides Port Orleans French Quarter) have. Riverside would definitely be my recommendation!!

We honeymooned almost ten years ago in what was then Dixie Landings now Port Orleans Riverside. We stayed in the mansion section with a King bed - it was wonderful!!!! The rooms in the mansion section are very pretty and romantic, perfect for a honeymoon. The mansion themselves are very pretty with lots of lush landscaping. There was a quiet pool right near our room and we found the whole resort very peaceful. Now if you like a more rustic look the Alligator BAyou section would be for you. But for us the mansions had the feel of a romantic honeymoon escape without the hefty price of the Grand FLoridian. It was the perfect way to start our marriage, we had a great time honeymooning in WDW!

Congrats and enjoy! :)

I personally haven't stayed at POFQ yet - but from the pictures I've seen and from what I've heard from friends - it's a beautiful relaxing resort!

About Carribbean beach - we've stayed there twice before - yes it can be alot of walking - but if you like that Carribbean feel - go for it! There are quite pools at each 'island' so you don't have to fight all the kiddies in the man pool. Plus snoozing on the hammocks on the beach is nice too! :) You can rent surrey bikes and take VERY LONG bike rides around the resort (cause it's so huge) and even though people say it's alot of walking, there's nothing more romantic then walking hand in hand with your hubby along a beach/body of water - eh?

Congratulations and ENJOY your HM! DH and I honeymooned there last year - make sure you get at least bride/groom pins! :)

I will be taking my honeymoon at POR this September! From what I have read it seems like the most romantic for the moderates. Congratulations on your engagement, hope you find something you like!

I stayed at POR during Easter this year, and was amazed at how quiet the rooms were. The grounds are well manicured and the facilities were adequete. Had a great time. The boat (which is an exclusive to staying here or POFQ) to DTD can be romantic as well has the horse drawn carriage rides. The paths along the river are well lit should you engage in a nighttime stroll. I saw a few people swimming in the pool as late as 10:30 pm.

If you want a nice pool, maybe you should look into CS. Southwest architecture. I thought the POR pool was adequate, but nothing special. It does offer a lot of shade.

A lot of honeymooners want the feel of a tropical resort, and the CBR would be your choice. I haven't stayed there before, but I understand the landscaping is very tropical where POR is more "deep south"

You'll have a good time no matter where you stay.

Without children, any of the moderate resorts can be romantic. I think my top two picks would be POFQ and CSR. CSR has a lot of great scenery, but POFQ has just a lot of relaxation and an overall romantic feeling. Not quote sure how to put it, but POFQ just has a lot of love in the atmosphere.

Oh - and...way to go Fantasia!!!!

We honeymooned at Dixie Landings (now Port Orleans) and didn't like it. I've never stayed at Coronado or Carribean Beach, but would choose one of those over Dixie Landings. Dixie was too big and bus system was awful. Seemed like forever to get out of resort on the buses. Congrats!

Lots of votes for Port Orleans Riverside, but I'm going to switch it up and say Port Orleans French Quarter.

It's very compact, and very lovely. Nothing is a tremendous walk and strolling the grounds is very romantic, and peaceful. You also have access to any of the amenities at Riverside, and you're the last stop on the boat to Downtown Disney! ;)

Have a wonderful honeymoon, and congratulations!

I would suggest CBR. The resort is large but it isn't a long walk from anywhere except Trinidad South. There is plenty of private spaces on Parrot Cay where you can sit and watch the water.

Also the hammocks on the beach are great and at night the beach at Martinique is a wonderful place to watch Illuminations from Epcot.

I have stayed at the other moderates and always find ourselves back at CBR.

We honeymooned at CBR in 1989 and absolutely loved it! We are celebrating our 15 year anniversary in 4 weeks and staying at POR.
I was torn between CBR and POR for our anniversary trip.
We have stayed at CBR since our honeymoon and have always enjoyed the tropical feel and beautiful grounds. I just wanted to give POR a try. Everyone always says how beautiful and romantic it is. If you decide on CBR, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

DH and I stayed at POR in the mansion section last Nov. We've been married 16 years but thought this was a very romantic resort and would make a wonderful honeymoon hotel. We just got back from Animal Kingdom Lodge which we loved. But if we were choosing between the two resorts based on romance, POR would win hands down.
