I just booked my honeymoon!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!  April 27th-May 3! My DF has never been there, and I haven't been there in over 10 years!! I just have to decide now if I'm going to do the honeymoon registry or not. How did that work out for everyone who's used it?

Congratulations! My DF and I will down there at the same time as you! :thumbsup2 It'll be my DFs 2nd time and I can't count how many times I've been there. We also signed up for the Honeymoon Registry, but haven't received anything yet. We only registered one other place, so I'm hoping if people do give us gifts, it'll mostly be from Disney. We really didn't need anything since we're actually trying to get rid of a house and all the duplicates of stuff that we have.

Is your wedding on the 25th then? We're debating changing our ressie to arrive Sunday, instead of Monday, but I can't decide if we'll be too tired then...

Thanks!! Congrats to you too!! That's awesome we'll be there at the same time!! Where are you staying at? My fiance and I don't really need alot of stuff either, that's why I was thinking of registering for this.

Yep! Our wedding is the 25th! We're getting married at home in Pittsburgh. I was thinking about arriving Sunday too, but I thought it might be nice to have a day to recoop from the wedding and say goodbye to out of town guests. Plus, we have 2 furry, four legged children that I'd like to spend some quality time with before I have to leave them for the week.

Oh, and P.S. I'm wayyy more excited for the honeymoon than the wedding also!!!!!

I'm excited for both, I just wanna be a wife though, so I'm looking forward to the Disneymoon... I hate wedding planning it's just not so much my thing (plus we're buying DVC on our honeymoon).

We go May 17-24th to stay at Beach Club Villas  Can't wait!

Wedding planning is totally not my thing either! Once I got the chapel and the reception site booked, I kind of lost steam. Now it's only 7 months away and I still don't have a dj... oops...

We're getting married here at home in St Paul too, DF family wouldn't have been able to attend if we did a DFTW. snif. But that's ok. This way, they'll be able to attend! I hope!

We're also thinking about buying into DVC but haven't quite made up our minds.

We'll be at the YC this time around. I thought this is a special occasion and decided to splurge! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

I go through phases of enjoying wedding planning and totally hating it! haha! I have almost everything booked, except a florist! And then I just need to figure out what I'm doing for favors, centerpieces, and that kind of stuff. I need invitations too. I've been bugging my DF for weeks to finish his part of the guest list, but he keeps putting it off!

That is so familiar. Not only can I not get DF to finalize his side of the guest list, but I can't even get him to sit down to figure out what we want to taste from the caterer! You'd think he'd be all over that at least!:headache:

We just got married this past June and spent a week at WDW for our Honeymoon. It was wonderful!! Such a great ending to our wedding plans!

As for the registry, GO FOR IT! We put around $1,500.00 worth of Disney activities on there (meals, outings, etc.) and got all of it. It paid for the parts of our honeymoon that we didn't pre-pay; we'd already paid for a meal at Cinderella's Royal Table, hotel, and park tickets. But, we felt so great to be able to eat anywhere and do anything that we wanted to do! Just don't rely completely on that for your spending money, though. We made sure we had everything ready to go as if we didn't get any of the honeymoon money the week before our wedding. The Disney money was actually what all of the last minute shoppers bought us; we had about $300.00 on our card the day before the wedding, and it was full when we called the morning after the wedding. We ended up just leaving the cash we had taken out of our own accounts at home since we didn't need it with the giftcard.

Just don't go overboard on adding activities if you do want gifts from another registry; we were completely newlyweds in the entire sense. I've been living on my own for nearly 5 years, but DH hadn't been. So, we needed pretty much everything home-wise to start our life together. If you go overboard on the Disney registry, you may get too much from that and not the things you were hoping to have when you get home from your honeymoon.

You can also add/subtract things as you go too; I know some people are hush-hush about checking their registries, but it's really the only way to keep up with items that may have been double purchased, etc. If you see people just buying your Disney money, then you can always take things off of it so they'll pay attention to your other registries. The Disney registry is much easier for people to fill out a form online than going to the store, sorting through a print-out, and searching for an item.

I FINALLY got him to work on his guest list last night. It took maybe about 10 minutes! Why he put it off for weeks and weeks I'll never understand. :confused3

Wow! Sounds like you had good luck with your registry!! I don't really understand how this all works... I know that our vacation has to be paid in full like 45 days before we arrive or something like that. So if people are putting money on our registry for our wedding, which is 2 days before we arrive in Disney, then will we get the money to cover what we already paid??? Maybe I should look into this more tonight.

Well, if you get $$ on your Disney registry in advance, you can put that towards your entire reservation. There is an area on the registry website where you can put nights at your selected resort.

If you're going to be there for a week, you're definitely going to need a lot of food/extras money. That's what we used most of our Disney registry money towards; we made a lot of reservations - restaurants, outings, etc. You can even book massage packages at a few of the resorts. We used the giftcard to pay for everything once we were there. So, when we walked on to our plane, we'd already paid for the hotel and the tickets. We never spent any of our own money once we got there because of our Disney registry.

See, we already booked the dining plan, so all that will also be paid in full 45 days before our trip! I'm wondering if this isn't worth it for me? I'm afraid of getting everything paid off, and then getting a bunch of money on my registry that we already paid for!

I've used the registry and I think it's a great Idea. So far tho, I haven't gotten any funds added onto it. I say thats bc my wedding is in May so its still a ways away and there hasnt' been a shower or anything yet. I'm hoping that we get funds put on it, but, I'm a little weary of how people will take to it. It certainly is a "modern" registry, and not traditional. However, we plan on doing a regular gift registry, just for some small things. We already live together so a lot of things we already have!

If your worried about getting too much funds on the card, then just register for an amount that your comfortable with. Remember the funds just go on the card, if you registed for the spa, you don't have to use the money on the spa. With that said, you can use the card on all kinds of things including souveniers, photopass, disneystore online, or even to extend your disneymoon a day or so.

I was worried about that too, but I called the Honeymoon registry people and they said even if your package is paid in full 45 days in advance, you can still use your registry funds. You just need to notify them prior to checkin to change the form of payment and they will refind your credit card or however you paid.
