Day 9 7th of November: Universal strikes back!
We met up with Kent and Anne at our hotel around 9am and snagged a taxi to draw us up to universal. Having both woken up late we elected to wait till mid morning to eat so we beat the main crowds of the day. OOOOHHH what a nice taxi. They had no regular ones so they brought up one of the executive Lincoln cars. Sooooo nice.
We stopped on city walk quickly and got ourselves some coffee/tea and danishes to tide us over. That cinnabons a pretty good place. And then straight into universal. As we walk into the main street area im cursing under my breath as the place is heaving with people. But as soon as we got past shrek and the nick area it thinned out dramatically. Daring to push our luck we headed straight for the mummy. 5 minute wait??? WOOOHOOOOO
Quickly we jammed our stuff into lockers and ran onto the ride. We waited all of 3 minutes and then WHOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH off we went. I love this ride to pieces. Its so much fun and so cleverly done. Unfortunately when we came out the line was 30 minutes so we decided to move on. We then wandered past earthquake and into jaws. I know its old but I loved this ride and so did Kent and Anne. They were both tired but seemed to be having a really good time.
We then doubled back to earth quake and rode that. Ive never been a huge fan of this ride but the others enjoyed it so its all good. From there we wandered round and did men in black and back to the future. Naturally I got the best score on MIB LOL and BTTF was as always a wild ride.
From here we decided to eat some lunch so we had time to see the animal planet show. So we went to richters burger co. man do I love that place. I know its a fast food joint but its got some of the nicest burgers Ive ever had. So moist and flavourful. Damnit now im making myself hungry.
Anyway from there we did the animal planet show which is funny but geared towards kids. From there we did T2 3D which I always love because of the combination of technologies though I admit its starting to look a lil old compared to other attractions. After that we did shrek 4d which was just as funny as the first time.
By this point its getting on 5pm and the parks closing in an hour so we decide to go re-ride the mummy. But its shut! Waiters are rolling buffet carts and tables into the street and roping off the area. Seems some ones hired that section for a private function. So we make a beeline for MIB and BTTF. On the way though Kent and Anne decide to get a caricature done. Didnt mind at all as it let us rest our feet. We were laughing and joking with the guys doing them too. They were a lot of fun. As the 1st guy began to colour K & As the 2nd guy asked if we wanted one done. We declined but he said Ill do ya one for free, I got nada else to do anyway. How could we refuse?
It came out pretty good too. Very funny. Very much larger than life.
After that we caught a taxi back to the hotel and went to dennys for food as no one was feeling very hungry.
Good food again and a waiter that was the spitting image of snoop doggy dog.
After that we hung out round our hotel pool drinking and playing cards so we could be noisy if we wanted lol.
Late to bed again. Around midnight to 1am hehe.
