People have finally started buying things from our Disney honeymoon registry!
I know I have to request a payment from the website.
My question:
How is that money given to you? Disney gift card? Visa gift card? Personal check so I get cash back?

Thanks!

You can request to withdraw the funds via check, bank transfer, or PayPal. :thumbsup2

So if I request a check then I can cash it and "technically" use it for whatever I want, including non Disney things?

Right—a bank transfer makes this even easier since the money goes directly into your account.

I've never heard of this honeymoon registry...what is it and where do I find info about it?:confused3

I also have a question about the honeymoon registry! I have it set up where the money goes to my fiances account once we want it to, the question I have is I registered for the mickey and minnie bride and groom ears, and someone bought them for us! Now how do I get those? Can I get them sent to our resort when we get there? Or do I have to request them to be sent to my home address before the wedding?? :confused3

Also, PP, just google disney fairytale honeymoons, and you'll see info about the registry! It's fairly easy to set up! :goodvibes

We provided our bank information when we set up the registry, so when we went to withdraw, the money was deposited in my account. I think it even took less than 24 hrs. Once your withdraw once, if people buy things afterward, the money is automatically transferred right to you and just showed up in my account!

Valdawg- you didn't actually register for the hats if that makes sense, you registered for the money it would cost to get the hats. You will get the money for them and then you can buy them yourself with the money for the registry. The registry doesn't actually set up any reservations or deliveries of any items for you, they just turn the money over to you to do what you want with it. :goodvibes

Here's the link to the Disney Honeymoon Registry: http://disney.honeymoonwishes.com/

But I would recommend you research some other honeymoon registries before making your decision, since Disney's charges fees that can add as much as 10% to the cost of items on the registry.

eHoneymoon Registry (http://www.ehoneymoonregistry.com) charges couples a 3% transaction fee and guests a 4.9% credit card transaction fee. Traveler’s Joy (http://www.travelersjoy.com) charges couples 7.5% and guests nothing. Wanderable (http://www.wanderable.com/pages/honeymoon_registry) charges no transaction fees; to make credit card purchases, guests use PayPal (3% fee).

Piggybacking on what the PP said, you can order mouse ears from Merchandise Guest Services on your own and have them delivered to your home or your hotel, but you will be paying shipping fees, so you might want to wait and just buy them when you get there: 1-877-560-6477

Wow, have they changed the program in the past 3 years, or did I simply not pay attention when I did it?

They have completely changed it. Disney no longer administers the program, they've farmed it out to another vendor. Now it has all kinds of fees it never did before. :sad2:

That's really lame. The way it was before was AWESOME! I'm glad I got mine in before they made the changes.

The new system stinks, as the people who donate get charged a fee. The old system, all money donated went directly onto a "happily Ever After" gift card you could use at WDW, and nobody was charged anything extra. They stopped this just last year, or the very beginning of this year. I just don't believe that people that are being so generous in the first place should be charged for their generosity. This makes me particularly frustrated because Disney really just screwed themselves too, because now people can use the money, to say, pay a vet bill, or anything else, it doesn't have to be funds spent at Disney. I can't figure out why they farmed this out!!!

It does suck that they are charging fees, but you can set it up so that the fee comes out of whatever they give you, rather than on top of it. That's what I did.

Me too! I do wish that it was given in a giftcard form, but that's alright.
