I am going to DW in July, from the 21st to the 25th. I will be arriving on the 21st in the afternoon some time, and leaving in the evening on the 25th.

My fiance is a HUGE Disney fan, and I wanted to make her dreams come true in terms of this honeymoon. I know she would love some character dinners with Winnie the Pooh and friends, but I think we also want to have some nice dinners that are intimate and quiet just for us. I'm a fan of almost all food aside from seafood, but she enjoys seafood. I have been told there is a restaurant that's very pretty with a nice aquarium in it, and I'm sure I can get something OTHER than seafood there, and it would make my fiance very happy.

Anyway, I would appreciate if you can point me in the right direction so that we can enjoy a few character meals (whether it's dinner or lunch doesn't matter), have a few nice dinners alone, and enjoy a good breakfast as well to get our day going. I'm not sure where we are staying yet, though the BoardWalk Villas seem to be popular... not sure on that one, I just want something convenient to visit all the parks. We are not going to the water park, so we save a little time there :)

Thanks for the help!

Start with the menus on allearsnet.com and narrow down the food that you like.

Cape May and Crystal Palace are awesome breakfast choices, I hear Tusker House and Chef Mickeys breakfasts are great too with lots of character action.

50' Prime Time and Beirgarten are a lot of fun and have great food.

Le Cellier, Yachtsman, Cali Grill, Narcoosees, Citricos and many others are said to be romantic.

First off, you can't go wrong staying at the boardwalk. It's an amazing resort with incredible proximity to both epcot and mgm. I don't know much about character meals, but Crystal Palace has Pooh I believe. As far as some table service I would recommend coral reef (aquarium), ca grill (great food/fireworks..alebit a bit loud), artist point, flying fish (boardwalk), and victoria and albert's if you're open to different food and $$ isn't an issue. Have a great trip!

For a honeymoon, I would look into staying at the Grand Floridian, Poly or the Yacht Club (you can walk to the boardwalk from here so you'd still be able to visit but this resort tends to be quieter and you also get the benefit of stormalong bay - in july I'd think you'd be swimming)- depending on which location you prefer. JMO and I am sure others will have differing opinions.

I don't eat most seafood so any places I rec. you'll be able to find pork/beef/chicken.

Crystal Palace is where you'll want to go for Pooh. I rec. eating breakfast there. Chef Mickey's also has a nice buffet breakfast with Mickey and some of his friends.

Jiko at AKL is wonderful for a romantic dinner - good variety of food (and great quality), lovely atmosphere and it tends to be quiet. The lodge is a nice place to see. Jiko feels more adult than some of the other signature rest.

CA Grill in the CR is nice but loud. The view of the fireworks is fantastic and the food is good and varied. Just don't expect a really quiet, peaceful dinner and you'll be fine.

The aquarium place is Coral Reef in Epcot. It gets mixed reviews. From what I understand the steak is better than the fish there so you'd be fine.

Depending on where you are staying, there are other places I would rec. Kona cafe at the Poly is not romantic but has good food - known for "tonga toast" and getting really good reviews for dinner. Also, Citricos at the GF is a more romantic spot for dinner. Flying Fish on the boardwalk is also nice.

Are you using the dining plan?

Boma at AKL is terrific, food is amazing and the atmosphere of the lodge is very romantic. If she likes princess' the Norway b/l/d would be a good choice. Artist's Point would also be a good choice, my DH and I love it at the WL in the evening.

Have a wonderful Disney life together.

You might want to look into Beach Club or Yacht Club. Both are very nice but a little quieter then Broadwalk. But we love the whole area over there. Walking to Epcot, taking a boat to MGM, and short bus rides to MK and AK.

For Pooh got to Crystal Palace at MK. Try to get an ADR before park opening so you can get some good pics on Main Street without the crowds.

Coral Reef is the restaurant you are talking about with the huge aquarium. I haven't been in a while but the reviews have been pretty good.

Another romantic quiet dinner is Jiko at AK. Very good food and service. We had an awesome dinner here back in Dec.

If you want to go all out, Victoria and Albert's is to die for. Very very very romantic and quiet. They do personalized menus for each table. They give the women roses at the end of the meal. We had the best experience here in December. It felt like we were in a whole world to ourselves. The food was unbelievable.

What does the dining plan offer me, and is it worth it? And if so, how do I get involved in it?

I am buying DVC points from a friend to cover my hotel (hopefully), so we will see about that.... I will keep you all posted :)

There are two dining plans. You can read about them on allears.net. Depending on your eating habits, it may be worth it for you.

If you are booking through disney or AAA, you book it with your magic my way tickets.

If you are booking a villa through a dvc member, the dvc member will need to arrange it for you.

You can either get the regular or deluxe plan with a package or if you do DVC you have to get the dvc owner to book the plan for you. The regular plan is 1 counter service, 1 table service, and 1 snack per person per night of your stay. The deluxe is 3 flexible meal credits (can be used for counter or table service, signature restaurants are still 2 credits) and 2 snacks per person per night.

If you can't get into Broadwalk Villas the Beach club villas are very nice too. This is where we love to stay.

Honeymoon?

I suggest at least 2 nights you get a bottle of wine, some cheese, fresh fruit, crackers and go find a spot all of by it's self at what ever resort you are staying at, and have a picnic.

You will struggle to have any special moments in the vast majority of WDW eatig places. They simply are 2 busy.

Go with me on this. Atleast 2 nights, have a very simple meal undwer a shade tree, while watching people from a far.

Enjoy.....
