Honeymoon Help

My fiancee and I are planning our Disney Honeymoon for June 4th. However, we're having trouble figuring out which hotel is best for the price. We're looking for room quality, king size bed/oversized tub/etc., however don't want to spend the $ on the Grand Floridian. We're planning on a splurge to Discovery Cove (swimming with the dolphins!) and Margaritaville… but we still will find the time to enjoy our room. Any opinions are better than nothing… Help?

You might want to look into one of the Garden Suites at the Boardwalk...I've heard they are very romantic with large jacuzzi tubs!

I would suggest AKL. It's one of the less expensive delux hotels and the theming of the resort is fantastic. DH and I stayed there for half of our honeymoon and loved it. It also has two great sit down restaurants (Boma and Jiko) as well as a counter service place (Mara). The one drawback, IMHO, to AKL is that its a pretty long bus ride away from most of the parks.

From what I found if you want the big tub you're going to end up paying close to the same as GF, if not more. I wanted a big tub too but could only find them in suites or deluxe rooms. I think the King beds can be accomodated in the deluxe (maybe even moderate) resorts. I looked at allearsnet.com to see the room/suite breakdowns with pictures and prices.

We did the dolphin swim at DC during our last visit and had the best time - definately one of the highlights. We're thinking of going back this year, but minus the dolphin swim to save a few dollars.

Have you ever considered renting points from a DVC member? My DF and I are staying at Old Key West for 12 nights which is 240 points. Most points cost between $10-11 per point. You can go to the DVC boards, read the rules, and then post a request for points on the Rent/Trade board. You can get a huge room with a king size bed, full kitchen, living room, and 2 person jacuzzi for a pretty good deal providing you chose a resort that is less points per night and the right time of year.
