My Husband and I are going to DW in May 2006 for our honeymoon. I am looking for a night to dress up and eat and go out for a celibration. Do you have any suggestions? Also, was wondering what neat things to do for Honeymoon while there? Is there any bonuses for being on honeymoon?

Thanks

Make sure if you made reservations, call and tell them you are on your honeymoon.....many purks!

Make sure you get the bride and groom Mickey ears!!!

DH and I went to WDW and on the Disney Magic for our honeymoon and loved it. If you wear the ears around the park you'll get some special benefits, like your own boats/carts on certain rides.

The fanciest and most expensive restaurant at WDW is Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian. It's very tough to get a reservation there though, but that's one of the only restaurants that requires a dress code.

DH and I didn't have a "dress up" night, but we did have some very romantic dinners, including Le Cellier at Epcot (for steaks) and lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table (inside Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom, where we got a window table that looked out over Fantasyland).

We stayed off property for our honeymoon, but we went to guest services to make reservations for Le Cellier for our fancy dinner. They gave us tickets to a special spot to watch the fireworks that night, and then we we got there they have bride and groom mouse ears and a porcelien (sp?) bride and groom Mickey and Minnie waiting for us!

We had our dress up honeymoon dinner at the California grill. And definitely mention it's your honeymoon. You don't always get stuff, but you will definitely get a lot of attention.

Good advice. There are thousands of honeymooners at WDW at any given time, and it's just economically impossible to do something for all of them. You will get lots of good wishes, but don't expect anything more than that in "perks" and be pleasantly surprised if things do happen. for you.

for a dressed up occasion i would head to the grand floridian's victoria & alberts if you want to go all out. its a great restaurant, very romantic with roses for ladies, multicourse meal. citricos is also a nice restaurant at the grand floridian. the california grill on top of the contemporary resort is another great special meal with views of the magic kingdom & even the fireworks late in the evening. as for in the parks any of the epcot worldshowcase restuarants, there all so yummy & fun with their themes.

as for honeymoon ideas check out the wedding & honeymoon board here.

we enjoy couples spa treatments, behind the scene tours, theres a carriage ride at port orleans, etc.

congrats & have fun on your disneymoon!

we are dining at Jiko on our wedding night, mostly due to the fact that we are staying at AKL for our honeymoon.

I have a top ten list of things to do without kids that was published by The Boston Herald, the article has been archived or I'd send you the link. Here is the basic ten though:

1. Dinner at California Grill
2. La Nouba
3. Adventurer's Club
4. ESPN zone- during a game
5. Drink around the World - sample the different drinks at Epcot
6. Spend time at the Boardwalk
7. Illuminations at Rose & Crown
8. Carriage Ride through Ft. Wilderness
9. Chef's Table at Victoria and Alberts
10. Get married at Disney

I absolutly agree with Victoria and Alberts if you can swing the cost, its very expensive, otherwise California Grill is my second favorite that's where my husband and I are going for our 4th anniversary this year.

Also definitly get the wedding ears, we had several special moments thanks to those, including getting to decorate the christmas tree at the christmas store in Magic Kingdom. They were super nice and I found out when I got home not only did they give us the special magic moments ornament but also a few wedding ornaments throw in, very cool :)

A couple of warnings if you go to California Grill - 1. Make sure you ask for a window seat when you check in, otherwise you may be across the room desperately trying to look over everyone's head to see the great view. 2. Be prepared that although you may be dressed up, not everyone there take the restaurant as seriously as it takes itself and you may be sitting (like I recently was) next to someone in a tank top. 3. The overall setting is a bit louder and larger than I would choose for a really intimate meal. It's all one room, the chefs are visible over a half wall and it was a bit chaotic when we were there.

I'm a bigger fan of Le Cellier.

Good luck and have a great time!

Victoria and Alberts would be great to do! Maybe you could also sign up to do a couple's massage at one of the spas-they have one at the Grand Floridian. Pleasure Island would be something fun also-we went clubbing there and had a blast! Sometimes you can be singled out for being a honeymoon couple-we did! Make sure you wear your ears!! :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Oooooh, a couple's massage sounds heavenly. I'll have to put that on my future list of to do's. Thanks for the idea!
