This is my first post!
My fiance and I recently decided to honeymoon at WDW in July 2012! I've been to WDW twice and DL once. He has been to DL once but doesn't remember much. This will be our first Disney trip together and we are so excited! We are kids at heart who just want to have a good time!
What are some tips for newlyweds at Disney? Romantic attractions/restaurants? Also, we are not looking to spend a fortune so budget saving tips are welcome as well! Thanks in advance!:thumbsup2

This is my first post, too!
My fiance and I are also going to spend our honeymoon at Disney World! We're going June 2012!
I don't really have anything else to add to this except congratulations and I'm probably going to steal any help that you get from this thread for myself! ;)

First of all congratulations on your up coming nuptials! :wizard:

As for romantic ideas:

* Cuddle up and watch an outdoor movie after indulging in some s'mores around the campfire. For more information on resorts that offer this and what the movie schedule will be see: http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com/activity-outdoormovie.php

* Horse back riding at Fort Wilderness or a carriage ride at Wilderness Lodge

* Sit on the beach at the Polynesian and watch the Wishes fireworks

Restaurants:

* Victoria & Albert's it's very romantic and there are no children under a certain age allowed.

* Narcoosee's and California Grill both offer you viewing of the Wishes fireworks and they both offer great food.

* Jiko is great too, really top notch service! The Animal Kingdom Hotel is stunning to wander through and grab a drink. When we were there in the winter they had a lovely fire pit and rocking chairs all set up outside, I'm not sure if they have that in the summer though!

There are loads of other things to do that are fun and romantic, including tours and private dinners take a peek at the following links for a few more ideas:

If you're interested in popping outside of Disney and like animals I'd also highly recommend Discovery Cove. It's such a beautiful place with all inclusive food and drink (REALLY great food!) and of course you get to swim with the dolphins! http://www.discoverycove.com/

Happy planning! :)

This is my first post as well, and I have a lot in common with you two. My fiance and I will arrive at Disney for our honeymoon on Aug 14 of this year (one day after 30% off Deluxe Resorts...grrrrrr) and will be staying a full week. My almost-hubby has never been to WDW; quite frankly, he's never been on a real vacation. I've been over a dozen times and was shocked to find out that he really wanted to honeymoon there. I want so badly to make this trip special for him.

As far as romantic recommendations go, I suggest dining at the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary while the Wishes! fireworks are going off at MK. That's what I have reserved for our very first night, and I couldn't be more excited. I'll let you know if it's as special and romantic as I think it is going to be.

Will loves animals, and we'll probably spend a whole lot of our time at the AK, and I am desperate to find a way to afford staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. He and his family are absolutely broke, so I'm paying for the honeymoon all on my own. Right now we are booked at a moderate resort, but I have been searching the internet for hours a day trying to find a way to get a break on Animal Kingdom Lodge. I just want to give Will everything he deserves with this honeymoon. I'm sorry if I sound gushy or tacky... Anyone got the scoop?

I would add La Hacienda in Epcot- it is one of the better restaurants and not super pricey (by Disney standards)

Congrats everyone!!!

My fiance and I will be spending our honeymoon with disney too!!

June 11 we are getting married and heading onto the Disney Dream for a week and then over to the parks for another week!!

I am sooooo excited!!!

My fiance actually proposed to me in front of Cinderella's Castle in Oct 2009 - it was a dream come true!!!

I wish you all much happiness!!!!:lovestruc

YAY! Congrats! We had friends that had their honeymoon in Disney and as part of their registry we were able to pay for one of their meals. I can't remember where they chose to eat, but it was a nice gift for someone who already has a lot of the essentials. Have a great time!!!

Hey! I finally found a wedding twin! Are you getting married at Disney?

Congrats to all of you happy couples getting married!!

I just wanted to ask if you'd considered renting DVC points to stay at AKL Villas, Kidani Village? Depending on the time of year, non-premium rooms look like they can be gotten for around $100-$120/night. I haven't done this myself, but that is certainly how I plan to stay at AKL next time I go to WDW! :goodvibes

Congrats! We'll also be having a Disney Honeymoon this October at the Beach Club. You're going to have a blast.

As far as romantic ideas-

1) You could take a carriage ride around Port Orleans
2) Watch the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian
3) Relax on the beach at the Grand Floridian, Poly or the Beach Club
4) Head over to the Boardwalk and walk around

Here are some of our favorite restaurants-

1) Tutto Italia (Epcot)
2) LeCellier (Epcot)
3) California Grill (Contemporary)
4) San Angel Inn (Epcot)
5) Cinderella's Royal Table (MK- might not be as romantic with a bunch of little kids around , but you get to eat in the castle!)

Ditto on visiting Discovery Cove! The dolphin swim and the reef were well worth the money, and very romantic too!

Have an awesome honeymoon!

Hey we're arriving for our honeymoon 2 days after you- we're staying at POFQ and it's DFiane's first time after he proposed to me in Disneyland Paris (also his first time there!).

The advice about renting DVC points could be your best bet other than late deals now. Always worth calling Disney to see what the availability is like.

No we arent getting married there ( i wish) but we are leaving very early the next morning to get on the disney dream and then over to the parks!!

CONGRATS!!!

RENT AKL DVC points. You can stay in a studio for less than a moderate resort quite often. We are looking at AKL value studio in Dec 2012 for our 10th anniversary, it comes out to $880, less than a value resort by $200. Go to the DVC rent points board for more info.

Congratulations to everyone who is getting married in the near future!

My fiance and I will also be tying the knot end of June 2012, and we are just beginning the early planning for our WDW honeymoon in early July 2012. Not exactly ideal timing for crowds, but should be fun nonetheless. Plus, he's never EVER been before!

I generally consider myself a complete Disney-know-it-all (having been 20+ times since a young age), but I have found myself somewhat out of my element when it comes to Honeymoon planning!

A quick question for anyone who can answer it. What hotels offer king size beds in non-suite form? I've stayed at the ASMu, POR, Contemporary, and Poly in the past (Poly is my favorite!), but never in a room with a king size bed, and that's something we really want for our honeymoon :)

I will definitely be stealing some of the other suggestions in this thread, so thanks to everyone who contributed and to the person who started it! :)

Congrats on your wedding next year! We stayed at the Beach Club this past March and May and had a king bed both times (what a relief from the double beds at POP :yay: )
We had a standard room and not a suite. I'm not sure what other hotels have king beds, but the Beach Club is awesome!

:lovestruc Can I also say that my fiance and I are honeymooning in Disney in July 2012?! Congrats to us all! We are going to have a fantastic time! Looking forward to stealing any tips for honeymooners. I have been to Disney more times than I can count, but my FI has only been twice (both with me and friends). So, while I know my way around Disney and what to do, I have never been there for a romantic occasion before! I am so excited!!! :lovestruc

Ditto! I have been 20+ times since a young age as well and also consider myself a complete Disney know-it-all. Heck, my nickname at work is "Disney" and I LOVE it! :) But, as far as honeymoon planning goes, I am at a loss! I know I am going to surprise my FI with the "Around the World Segway Tour at Epcot". He has been twice and his favorite park is Epcot and he has always wanted to ride a segway. It will be a surprise for him (hoping I can keep it a surprise!).

I am going to be going on my honeymoon in Disney World as well :) September 2012. Absolutely cannot wait. In the process of planning and booking the trip now :surfweb: Will be subscribing to this to see if any honeymoon updates will come along through here as well :)

thanks everyone for all the great ideas! and congrats to all those marrying in summer 2012 as well! what resort will you be staying at? we are choosing a value resort to try and save some money and were thinking about pop century. has anyone ever stayed there? what is it like? also, will anyone else be using the honeymoon registry?

What is the segway tour at epcot? my fiance has never been to WDW, but i have already predicted that epcot will be his favorite park! i have never been the biggest fan of epcot, but then again i never really gave it a chance!
