We are going to WDW this December (for the weekend) and hope to camp out. However, we are getting married in October of 2012 and honeymooning at WDW. I think FW could be lots of fun. How is the weather mid October?

Usually mid October is nice, a little warm still but bearable. Have a fun December trip, the decorations are beautiful.

Do you mean camping or in a cabin? I really like the Fort- it's great! - BUT I would have freaked if my husband took me camping on my honeymoon :scared1: There's no way I'd want to cook, clean or do laundry on my honeymoon - plenty of time for that in the years to come. You know what they say though "different strokes for different folks!" :grouphug: Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!:bride:

I hope not too many people read this but Oct. is one of the best months to be at the Fort and WDW lower crowds and very nice weather

We went the the Fort Oct 9-17, 2 years ago and were hoping for some beautiful weather..maybe mid 80's or so.

Turns out the entire time was upper 90's heat indexes close to 100 everyday!! Very hot! Some locals were telling us it felt like July! Global warming???? :confused3

Anyway we will be back again this year Oct 5-17th and are keeping our fingers crossed that it won't be so hot this year!

ummm, "yeah, thats what it was, global warming, yeah, that's the ticket" :lmao:

the weather is really nice in october. i remember one it was really hot! but, being from wisconsin-we don't complain about the heat as we know it is short lived. lol

We've camped quite often and I've yet to clean or do laundry while camping. And while we're camping at the Fort, I don't do much cooking either, too much good stuff at the parks for me to cook.:cool1:

My DW and I were married in Orlando and honeymooned in our 8 man tent at the fort. The entire trip was a LOT of fun and very memorable.

Oh, if you do honeymoon at Disney, be sure to pick up and wear the bride and groom Mickey ears...there are perks in parks and restaurants that you will qualify for just by wearing the ears. Be sure to check in at Guest Services too, they will have additional goodies for you. party:

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful tips. I have not been to Disney since 2006 and DF since 1996.

I agree the weather in Oct is great!! I honeymooned at the Fort 17 years ago and had a FANTASTIC time. It was our first trip to WDW and the Fort has become our home away from home.
