Are Honeybaked hams worth the money? I am hosting Easter and have never cooked a ham so I'm thinking this is the way to go :rolleyes1 .

Yeah, they are very good..... In our family we prefer Carando Spiral Ham, they have the Honey packet attached to it! Wicked easy to cook, and it is very moist! :thumbsup2

I buy one every Easter! And we are also of the opinion they taste better at room temp which is even easier!

I make all my sides the day before, take out the ham early, heat up sides whenever we please and put everything on the table. Very very easy, I like that!

Honey Baked hams are very good...so is the turkey breast but in all honesty, I dont think they are worth the money. You can go to Sams or your local grocery store and buy a spiral ham and they come with a honey or cinnamon packet to use. Most of the spiral hams are already cooked so you only have to heat them if you want to serve warm.

IMO they're worth every penny. We love their hams. You can even buy an extra ham bone for a double batch of pea soup!

Totally worth the $$! We have a Heavenly Ham near us and swear by them. DMIL sent us a Honeybaked Ham recently and it was delicious.

I'm not the biggest fan of ham, but their turkey is AMAZING!

I like them, but personally I think Carando spiral cut ham is just as good and a heck of a lot cheaper.

I agree that you can buy a spiral sliced ham at the grocery store for less money and they taste as good if not better. We have had good luck with Cook's brand of spiral sliced ham but I don't know if those are available everywhere.

They are worth the money and very tasty. I still prefer the Heavenly Ham though. The HH has more of a sugary crust then the HB but both are delicious! The ones we got in the grocery store can't compare to the HHs and HBs hams. No comparison whatsover. Those are just nasty.

there was a similar thread last year. We tried a grocery store, spiral cut, glazed ham and no, it's not even close.

Stick with Honey Baked.

Is anything really worth what is charged???? They are expensive; however, they usually at least have some $5 coupons in the paper.

I have tried all the grocery store brands, BJs, etc. and I don't think they measure up. Not that they are bad, but I just haven't found one yet that is as good as the Honeybaked.

Well... I just took the plunge and ordered one :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone!!

Good choice! You will be glad you did, you just can't beat that sugary glaze. I have tried to imitate it with store boughts but can never get it right.

I think they are very good, but not worth the $. Spiral sliced hams are loss leaders at almost every grocery store this week. They are very easy to bake and usually even come with glaze mix.

Ham is about the easiest meal there is to prepare.

After this thread last year, I did a little taste test with my BIL who always raves about HBH and how much better it is than the supermarket version. He guessed wrong and thought the loss leader 99 cents/lb spiral was the vastly superior HBH. :rotfl:
