Honestly, how's FL Tours? We want to try.

It's actually a stretch limo I'm trying to get prices on. (You are right-I used FL Tours luxury van service and the gratuity was NOT included in the price). Actually I have no conviction either way-gratuity in or out-If I have lousy service the company will get a few letters and phone calls (although I've been fortunate and haven't had one complaint yet!-knock wood)

Tipping in any industry..resturant...cab etc...is ALWAYS before discounts.

I too had a bad experience w/ FL Tours. I contacted them in regards to pricing and found them to be very rude. To be fair to FL Tours... I cannot speak of their transporation service BUT if someone is rude to me via email I certainly not going to give them the opportunity to ruin my vacation. I'd suggest trying www.transporation2disney.com They have been VERY friendly during the communication process...I have yet to actually be transported by them....only 17 days! But have read only positive things & they are very competitive in pricing...I'll be sure to make a report upon my return!

Parrothd...would you post name of service you are using...or pm me the name?

Thanks!

I just now got off of the phone with 4 different, reputable, Orlando limo services -- all of which have been in business for over 10 years (not start-up companies that are looking for business as one poster suggested). Of those 4, only 1 one of them (when asked) stated that they add the gratuity to their prices. And that company was $65 more (round-trip) than the others. Keep in mind that 20% of a $180 r/t is only $36 - if service is good, I'd have no qualms about giving the driver a $40 tip.....but, $65 is getting ridiculous. That's over a 35% tip......sorry, "surcharge". It's NOT a tip if it's automatically added to your bill. ............................................Anyway, beware of the fine print and ask all of these questions when you call for your reservations. By doing this, I chose a limo service that:
- has been in business for 10 years,
- only has stretch-limos (10 passenger limos as opposed to the smaller 6-8 passenger limos),
- operates newer (2003) limos,
- charges $180 round-trip from MCO to Magic Kingdom resorts ($95 one-way),
- all fees & tolls are included, no hidden charges what-so-ever,
- tipping is at the discretion of the client (20% is a suggested industry standard for limo drivers but, the ACTUAL amount should be based on level of satisfaction......just like anywhere else you would tip a service employee),
- has free beverages in the limo,
- has moon roofs, tvs, video players, fiber-optic lighting, etc.
- has over 20, Five-Star, positive reviews on limos.com.....where the other Orlando limo companies listed on that site have less than 10 positive reviews.

The bottom line is Caveat Emptor -- in this case "renter-beware". On my trip, I may find that I'm not satisfied with the choice I made however, all I can do right now is base my decision on educated, deductive reasoning.

Just curious - why did you not post the names of the companies you talked to and the one you chose? Many of us would like to visit their websites and confirm what you said!

Can I ask a question about this?

I did that once...I called/emailed about 10 companies and listed the prices and names of the companies and it was removed. I assumed it wasn't allowed. Isn't there a consistant stance on this?

Parrothd - I like your handle - fellow parrothead over in IN.

Wow. It amazes me how one person can give a bad review and then everyone wants to jump on them and try and justify why they had bad service or why the poster didn't like there service. Aren't we entitled to our own opinions? This board is informative and anyone thinking about using a service such as FL TOurs and asks a question how is thier sevice will expect to get lots of responses. Good ones and some bad ones then they can make their own decision.

We had planned on using FL Tours as well until we had some communication problems and some serious mistrust came into play. I don't like someone telling me how much I have to tip and that it is automatically included either. I also don't like it when a company knowilngly intends on breaking the law by cramming 12 of us inot a 10 passenger van and then try and charge us $150 for it like we are getting a good deal.

So now Murray Hill is getting my business.

I have read many wonderful reviews for FL Tours here at the DIS, and I booked them for my very first visit to WDW in April. Traveling as a single mom with a young DD, I was a little nervous, so I wanted things to be as easy as possible.
Unfortunately, our FL Tours driver was not at the airport when we arrived. Our flight was on schedule, so I thought maybe he was somewhere else in the airport. We walked with our luggage back and forth from the last baggage claim where our luggage arrived to the stairs we had come down to get there (I didn't know where he was suppose to be). I was a little frustrated because our bags were heavy and my little one had to pull hers since I had an armful. She was tired from getting up at 4:00 am to catch our flight and the tears were beginning to flow.
Luckily, my aunt had loaned me her cell phone in case of an emergency, so we finally stopped searching and called. We had to go back down to baggage claim and out the doors to meet our driver outside when he got there. Although the driver apologized, that was the only talking he did during the entire drive. Not very friendly.
I know well that no service is perfect, nor is any trip, but unfortunately, this was our first trip and it got off to a shaky start with FL Tours. This was exactly what I wanted to avoid, and I paid $105 to do it. The return trip to the airport (with a different driver) was better, but they forgot the booster seat for my DD.
I don't know if I'll try FL tours again.

Kind of remind you of the cruise line pricing.

$150.00 RT (the fare)

plus 20 % (the port charge)

Remember?

I tip what I want to tip, Not what someone tell me to!!!!
