on our next trip we are possibly thinking of adding a few days and staying at vero beach. i have 2 DS 18 & 16 years old. i am wondering if 3 days at vero with teens willl be too much. i am worried about them being bored. our plan is to do 7 days in WDW and 3 at vero.

thanks

I think 3 days will be about right. It's a very nice resort but more for relaxing IMO but with the beach, pool, mini gold, and yard games; I think they'll be fine.

We are going to Vero in June 2007. In case you do not know Vero was rated as one of the top ten family places in the US by Forbes and it is a AAA three diamond resort. I hope it lives up to our expectations.

We have only stayed there for one night so far (before our Dec. 2004 cruise). It is a beautiful resort and I can't wait to go back and enjoy a few more nights. If your boys enjoy water sports I think they would like it. We saw a number of people on surf boards and boogie boards having a good time.

We were there last April ( in one of the beach cottages) for three days. It was wonderful. We had three teenagers and one preteen. They had a great time hanging out together. However, I think the amount of time was perfect. Once we got there, we never stepped off the resort. (sent the men for groceries and cooked basics in the cottage). However, it is about relaxing and I think the time frame was just enough. After we headed to Orlando for more activity. I would really like to return every couple of years for the same kind of trip.

I took my girls a few years ago and we loved it so much that we stayed an extra day! This year, we're going to stay 4 nights there! We're really excited about it!

After saying that, it really depends on what you like. If you have to be go-go-go all the time, you might get bored after 3 days, but if you like to relax and enjoy the beach, a beautiful resort and a wonderful little community, then you should be fine! We didn't get bored at all!!

We love this resort. We stayed 4 nights in 2000 and it was "just right" for my kids who were 7,9 and 13 at that time. They were a bit rammy by the 4th day but I think that's because they knew we were going to WDW the next day.
We went during the summer and didn't find the resort to be overly crowded. We had an ocean view Inn room and loved it. My kids had fun on the beach----we rented jet skis one day and that was alot of fun as well. This was a low-key vacation, so hopefully your kids will be able to wind-down from the wdw portion of the trip. We found it very relaxing and hope to return soon.
We went off property several times as I have an aunt and uncle who live in nearby Sebastian. We visited some museums in the area.

Are you able to book at the 7 month window for a stay in early Nov? We're thinking of booking a 2 bedroom for Nov 5 - 7th.

We are having a 3 night stay in March with 14 yr old nephew ( first time visit). My DD and her new hubby went on honeymoon there in Nov. and absolutely loved it. We're excited to go. I'll report back. :sunny:

We went in the summer. It was very comfortable. Very quiet. Different then the beach experiences we usually have. Not many waves, but we are used to big waves, if your not then you won't be disappointed. It was relaxing. The kids enjoyed it (12 and 13 at the time). There isn't a whole lot around, but the resort itself is beautiful. We went for 5 nights, and by the time we checked out we were ready to leave. But then we had spent the week before in Disney. It was time to go home.

We are staying for 4 nights in June, and I'm looking forward to just relaxing. This is my first time home and I can't wait. :wizard:

We have stayed at this resort 3 times with yourger children and just love it!! There are activities for teenagers surrounding outdoor activities, jet skis, surf schools, scuba and Bike Riding. I think if your gang are the "beach going" outddor type then you will be fine with 3/4 days.

If you have preteen and young children there are so many activities that you could keep them busy almost every minute of the day.

We stayed a week in a Beach Cottage in October and it wasn't enough. We love the place. We don't have teenagers ( 4 year old boy) but the place is so great. How exactly is it boring to be by the ocean at a beautiful resort with great service, great pool with waterslide? :confused3 You'll have a great trip.

We have been going to Disney's Vero Beach Inn since 2001. DS was 12 at the time. He is now 18 and they are looking forward to going. My DD is 15. I'll be honest, there is NOT A THING TO DO THERE. You sit in the sun or you sit inside. If you like tennis or golf those activities are available to all age groups. Disney has put in a lovely lawn bowling area right out in front of the Inn but it is not big enough for more than one activities at a time. Pre-hurricanes you couldn't see the ocean but now you can practically see the ocean from any location on property (of course except the back side of the resort facing due West). Disney is really good about making sure that anyone coming and going (at least by car) are suppose to be there; so I have never worried about the kids. Now that they are in their OLDER teens ages, when we go in of an evening we just let them run. They walk the beach, they play around in the pool till the staff kicks them out. The most fun they have is playing cards in the front lobby with other kids. I have never popped in on them to see if they were being to loud, as I hope the staff would just ask them to leave if they were being obnoxious. Whether it is cruising or beaching at Vero the kids always seem to find others to hang with and things to do.

 I can't wait to scrapbook while we are there!

One can easily trade in through II for Oct, Nov and early Dec other than Thanksgiving.

We love the Vero Beach Resort. It has become an integral part of our WDW vacation.
The town is quiet, but there are some very nice restaurants that we have found. Unlike the HH Resort, we find the Vero resort to be set up so you don't have to leave the property if you choose not to. :smokin:

Is trading in through II worth it for just 2 nights? Is the 7 month booking time that hard to get? We don't have to have a 2 bdrm, we could get by with 2 studios or inn rooms, we're looking at Sun 11/5 & Mon 11/6.

Probably not for 2 nights. I was more commenting on the availability. However, if one gets a full week you just might have to stay longer, LOL. Also VB and HH don't have the extra $95 fee that the WDW DVC resorts do when trading in.
