Hi Everyone,:wave2:

As I sit here staring out of my window - looking at what they are expecting to be 18 - 24 inches of snow, I am thinking I want to plan a trip to Walt Disney World, unfortunately the only time we can go is mid July or early August.

I wanted everyone's honest opinion on going this time of year.

Thanks everyone any advice would be greatly appreciated :goodvibes

Hot and sticky. I avoid the summers like the plague, but we're from Alaska so melt like snow in the sun! Guess it depends on whether you can handle the heat? I've been to WDW once in July, but it was years ago..... Not sure if there is a huge difference between mid and late summer...... Not too helpful but expect HEAT!

Our first trip was at the end of July/beginning of August and we poured sweat all the time. The air was thick with humidity and it was just disgusting. We won't be doing that again and have chosen Sept twice, Dec, Feb and will be trying it in April for the first time. Our first Sept trip was perfect with highs in the 80s, but our HM was terrible with highs of 98 plus. As soon as you left the room, you walked into a wall of humidity(yuck).

If that is something you can handle, then go and enjoy your time. If not, then perhaps there might be another timeframe that you can find some time to go.

We have gone to Disney during the summer for the last 3 years.

August 2008- we were there during Tropical Storm Faye and that was not fun. It rained for a lot of the week.

The last two years we have gone during the second week in July. It really wasn't that bad. As long as we hit the parks early (we went to the early extra magic parks at 8 AM), the crowds and the heat were tolerable.

Take breaks, keep hydrated.

Please note that my trip report title "3rd annual we are NEVER going to Disney in the summer again" is tounge-in-cheek.

We went late July 2009. The weather was beautiful, no rain, crowds weren't to bad but it was VERY VERY hot and the atmosphere was thick! You would sweat just standing in the shade. We would leave the parks around 1:00pm and then come back around 6:00. In the evening it was much better but still pretty hot.
