I have a reservation for Homewood Suites in a family bunk room and wanted to check and see if they had connecting rooms so we could have 2 bathrooms. I called once and they said they did not have connecting rooms. I then was looking online and it stated under all the room descriptions that they have connecting rooms. I called the hotel back last night and they said that only the family suites connect with the 2 queens studio. That did not seem right so I called back this morning and they said that yes they have connecting rooms in the configuration that I wanted (1 king and 2 queen) but they could not tell me what the cost was, they needed to transfer me to global reservations. I have never called a hotel where they could not give me a price on a room and book the reservation for me.
I go to global reservations and I spend 30 minutes on the phone with this very nice woman who told me all about the hotel (yep - I already know about all that) and then told me about the connecting rooms and gave me the price for one of them. Then she put me on hold and came back and told me that she had to call the actual hotel to find out if the king room was available and it was not. I explained to her that I was looking on the website right now and it shows that room available and I can book it. She said she could not reserve it for me because the hotel said it was not available.
This is so frustrating! I just want to book 2 rooms! I could go online and book them both, but I want to speak with someone while booking them so that I can make sure the request for connecting rooms is placed on the rooms. Should I just book the two rooms and then call the hotel and request connecting rooms? Should I call and talk to a manager? I am ready to give up and just book somewhere else!
